32 GB P2 Cards: only Japanese language warranty cards?

Hi everyone,

Just got an HPX with 4x32GB cards. Am going through everything now and noticed that the warranty cards (in the green envelope) are only in Japanese for the 32 GB P2 cards. Manuals, etc, are all in English and Japanese. Does this seem right? These aren't gray market are they? Thanks!

Where did you buy your stuff?

If memory serves, there is a north american warranty card in there as well, and yes... a lot of stuff in Japanese with the p2 cards.

If you did buy from an authorized dealer, register with Panny b/c they are offering a 5 year warranty (if it is still effective) with the HPX line of cameras since there are no moving parts.

Bought it at a local brick and mortar that is an authorized Panny rep. Registered the camera for the 5-year warranty today. I don't think the P2 cards are eligible for the warranty, are they?

There is a white warranty card for N. America (and one for Canada) but the green envelope warranty is "Valid Only in Japan." So...

What kind of lens did you get with the 500? 4x 32GB cards is a decent amount of $$$. We were able to afford one 32Gb for each of our cameras (2) and we got external drives...

Hey Kit,

I had already purchased a Fujinon 13x4.5 BERM -- not one of the pkg lenses with the HPX, which is why it cost $23k :) I purchased this intending to use it with the Red, which I still may do, eventually.

The 32GB cards were an investment, but I plan on having the camera for a while and for the kind of stuff I do -- a lot of doc work -- shooting all day to cards and not reloading is huge.
