Dude, this is like one of the most impressive pieces I've seen on the internet. The acting, setting and story was very cool. Somehow - for me - it feels like a parody on a Tarantino movie just like Godard did parody gangstermovies in a bout de souffle. Dunno why.
Sometimes I just laughed cause of excitement about the quality of this film. Nobody seems to be impressed when a gun is pointed at them, the old man that keeps returning, all the indoor locations were dark with only sunbeams peaking through, witty dialogues, etc. It all works.
Some shots fooled me into believing this was 16mm.
Can you tell more about the lighting and the camerasettings? It looks like you shot the first scenes (until the arrival at the 'ex-wife's' house) very early in the morning. Also the movement felt really filmlike. What kind of aparture, exposure etc. did you set your camera at, color corrections, etc.
Thank you very much to share your feeling about my work. It's very important for me, it's my first movie. I will answer your technical questions, i 'm searching for the good words in english. I answer you this week end
Frogstone, twodogs, two names for one person!
I'm happy to see that your movie meet the same success as in France on "Le repaire"! It's quite normal, due to the qualities of your film. Congratulations again, and see ya soon Frogst.... hem Twodogs, sorry!
This was a fantastic short. Right from the beginning you set the mood of the film. picture was amazing, great shots, acting A+. i think you did an excellent job and for it to be your first short is really good.
My only concern was the smoke on the muzzle flash mentioned earlier in one of the posts. But other than that. Awesome.
