Eyes Set To Kill Music Video

very very solid video.

i am jealous of the location you had! its amazing

great set design.

my only critique is i would have loved to see a more stylized color treatment

congrats!

Like endeavor said, what a great location and set design!
And I also liked the colors;o)
Was it only a frontal softbox and the practicals besides the outside sun for lighting...?

thanks for the critique guys! I can see where your coming from. We went through a few color treatments and ultimately ended up with this one i was trying not to over due it with the effects but I can see how a stylistic color treatment would help. As for a set, we had a blast building it. We were on a very limited budget for this one so we had to pull a lot of strings to make this happen. My buddy who manages a junkyard was kind enough to let us build the set there for 2 days and shoot for another 2 days. The structure was an old train car from the early 1900s that they used for storage so we hit up every Savers, Goodwill, and thrift shop in the valley looking for vintage bedroom junk and clothes. You can check out out some pics of the set and behind the scenes here:

as for the lighting: we had just a 1k soft box and a 300w mounted high with a 1/2ctb pointed at faces for fill. We white balanaced to daylight to give it that orangish feel and the daylight had that white quality to it when it came through the windows. other than that we just had the practicals do the rest!

Awesome video. Really enjoyed it! This is probably a dumb question... but what program did you use to make all those film scratches and rolling images?

The film scratches were some stock video clips from istockphoto.com I modified them in FCP and then composited them into the clips. iStock has some pretty cool stuff at a relatively low price, I think I payed around 30-40 buck for each clip.

I'm just bumping this up to say that I really like this piece and have to agree with endeavor that it's a very, very solid video.

I've had the song stuck in my head for the past few days too. This video has made me want to listen to more of the band, which I suppose is exactly what it's supposed to do.
