Atlanta Area HVX'ers... Shout Out!

I've seen a few Atlanta based tags around the forums, so I know you're out there.

My HVX and a couple maxed-out Amex cards full of gear are just sitting around collecting dust. I moved to Flowery Branch (Hall County) several months ago and haven't gotten around to meeting local buddies yet. Too busy at the day-job to get much use out of it during the off-season.

I'd like to meet some area HVXers and shoot some footage, share tricks, have some fun, etc. I have my ideas as well, but I need to get to know some area talent before really exploring opportunities like that. For now, I just want to have some fun and keep the dust off my rig!

I may rent the rig out eventually, but for now I go where it goes... it's my baby... well, second to my wife... and sometimes my dog...

Cheers!

i see how it is, just go ahead and discriminate against us lowly dvx owners. i don't need your stinkin' club anyways!

A Flowery Branch fellow... wow, didn't expect that. We should grab a beer at Crossroads sometime, give me a shout: theArgiope at gmail

Someone asked me if I had a demo reel. To be honest, I purchased the camera in June and so far have only used it at work. I work for the Falcons and part of my job is shooting special features with players and coaches for web, wXIA, and the GA Dome big screens, and shooting games from the sidelines. I've shot some stuff of my family and goofed around too though... I'll post that stuff if you're interested.

My profession is more along the lines of the Flash/web development, motion graphics with After Effects, and some special effects. I'm more or less a creative geek with a good sense of technology. I bought the camera and a bunch of gear to satisfy my wife and my own passion for filmmaking. But, as the story goes, there's always something that needs to get done. Right now I'm swamped with getting ready for the draft - we're doing a live streaming video production for three days (and yes, we'll be using my HVX to broadcast from Dave and Busters!)...

What do you fellas do? Use your HVX for serious business, or just a hobby... pro video guy, filmmaker, etc?

I'm always in Atlanta/Marietta as that's where I grew up. =P Have to harass you guys next time I'm home.

haha,
vinny who owns crossroads gill lives right behind me. I'd love to meet up and chat... i always need new ideas and techniques. I just do a lot of contract work for just about anything. i really want to stay away from weddings and such but its a good way to make some quick money.

if you need help, or if the falcons need another camera operator let me know and i can help out. chaseandrews143@gmail.com

im actually planning a wakeboard dvd for this summer. i ride the tour so i know a lot of people in the industry... it should be a fun summer.

Hey Guys,
We are in the Conyers area. Let me know if you need any Steadicam or shooters.

FilmBoy, that would be my son. Its somewhere around $700.00 a day. Using his cameras ect, Iam sure he would give you a good rate.
