All I can say is RAMBO vs. JASON..... Wait no... Maybe Rambo is Jason. In that case maybe a better title would be, RAMBO THE THIRTEENTH.

They don't want to use "The Thirtheenth" because they're afraid it'll confuse movie-goers when Shrek The Thirtheenth comes out next summer. Plus they've already bought the domain names for the next ten Shrek movies. It's all marketing BS.

is it just me, or is stallone making better movies as he gets older?

wish I could say the same for some of my other favorite actors.

Were any of you watching the same preview I was watching? It looks horrible, cheap, low budget. Don't get me wrong indie films are great, but Rambo needs to blow s#!+ up man, Come on! nuke the entire rain forrest, damn global warming! I'm just saying It looks like it wasnt budgeted enough that's all.

Rocky 237, now Rambo 32. If he didn't have these two franchises Stallone would have no work...:zombie_smiley:

Rambo kicked major @ss!

A week ago I was making fun of a friend since he "had to see this opening night". I went to the theater today to see Cloverfield, then bought another ticket to see Rambo since it was starting right about then. This movie ROCKED! It is by no mean "great cinema", but man was that a FUN movie.

I had a HUGE smile on my face the entire time. I really think this is EASILY the most gruesome movie I've seen. I find it hard to believe that allowed alot of it through.

Another cool thing: I would say at least 75% of the killing effects were CG. Some of it was obvious, but it all looked great. And best of all, it shows us what we can do with a little time behind our keyboards.

This WAS Rambo for the next millenium. Awesome.

(Again, not a great "film", but certainly a HIGHLY entertaining MOVIE.)

AND there was a preview for a film called "son of Rambow" about a couple 10 year old kids making their own Rambo movie. Good times.

I saw Rambo last night and I agree with Devon - it is a true asskicker of an action flick. I was really really surprised at how good it is! It is an old-school action movie the likes of which we haven't seen in a long time. The action sequences are shocking, pulse-pounding masterpieces. It's like Stallone was channeling Paul Verhoeven (don't snicker until you see it). If you appreciate the action genre you owe it to yourself to check it out. And it breaks some new ground too - the CG killing effects shots take movie violence to a new level. (Let's just say it makes the opening 10 minutes of 'Saving Private Ryan' look like '27 Dresses.' ) It is a crowd-pleaser - at the end of the screening I was at there was applause and hooting, and several people were standing in the hallway around talking about how amazing it was. It is really RAW and NOT for kids - probably one of the most intense and violent films ever made.
