Ramjet Films Presents..... "Remember When"

The roughness and technical aspects aside.... I'm digging the sound of the music. It's very fitting overall, I think. I'm very pleased with the emotional tone he added to the film with the score.

Now, I just want to hear the finished thing, so I can see if my technical concerns are taken care of (which I'm sure they will be).

So glad to have Herman on board. Thanks, Herman.

Your life now depends on it! muahahha...

heheh... thanks for caring about mine and other's opinions, I'll try to give as useful feedback as I possibly can for you Jason.

heh, heh...

Just was working on making a few changes to the edit today as per some suggestions I received. Other than that, battling in my head about whether or not I want to add something to it or not.

Beyond that, it's pretty much done. Probably gonna need it's score from Herman.

And, just need to re-shoot a couple of little shots for the opening credit sequence. But, nothing big... Can be done in a few minutes. Just want to get better shots that are more clear.

Thanks for checking in, Ted.

Well, I'm screwing around with compression for the film again.... I already achieved results that I was quite happy with (960x540... actually 960x410 for aspect ratio) in a compact 42 meg file...

I managed to crank out a 1280x544 file that came in at about 47 megs. The quality took a bit of a hit, so I upped the bitrate a touch and am trying a multipass encode this time (taking a freaking year)... Anyways, my goal is to get a 1280 x 544 (or 1280x720 w/ letterbox) resolution file at 50 megs with quality close to the equivalent of my 960x540 file...

It's boring, but I'm having fun screwing around with compression techniques and getting good results, so it's encouraging...

Just thought I'd share my boredom with you all :)

EDIT: Success! 720p file that comes in at about 49 megs (51,000KB). Not quite as sharp as my 960x540 file, but 300 lines more rez, and looks good on my screen.

Jason,

I haven't read the other posts, but is this going to be sad? :(

The title and the image kind of make me think so?

I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Thanks, man.

Well, it's definitely not a comedy, and deals with a more serious subject, but I prefer to think of it as being somewhat optimistic in it's message.

Finding something optimistic to take from a not so optimistic situation... Hopefully that comes through, or it will indeed likely seem straight up sad :)

But, optimistic in a not so in your face kinda way :)

Thanks for checking in.

Believe me, I understand serious subjects. Last year was full of them. I always look forward to the optimism in those situations, so I'm looking forward to your flick and how you tell the story. Thanks.
