Hey FCP people. I've got a host of footage goin' out to Japan that originated in NTSC land. we're capturin' through an NTSC deck to ProRes 422 (HQ) 29.97. It didn't dawn on us til today to see if this was viable... but...

If the guys in PAL land create a ProRes PAL timeline to cut and shoot this stuff out on, will things be okay?

Any suggestions on using the ever-efficient ProRes 422 Codec to send stuff out to PAL land?

Don't quite understand your question. Are you asking whether converting NTSC footage to PAL via a ProRes export is a good workflow? It's ok but not best quality- for that you need proper hardware conversion or a plugin such as Nattress.com's Standards Converter.

Yeah that's pretty much it. I need to digitize NTSC footage to go to Japan. Can I ingest using ProRes 422 HQ 29.97 and will it be okay for the editors in Japan?

Yes! Sorry I abandoned this. LOL. Alt his digitizing and i forgot about it.

That helped a lot.
