Is there a next NYC owners/users meet planned?

I live in NYC. I think a meet was held at B&H Photo months ago. I own the DVX100A and would love to hook up with others. Will there be a meet in the near future?
 
I'm a long time DVX100a user and long time lurker here on the forums... I'm an hour from the city and I'd be into getting together.
 
I think B&H Photo actually provided a room for the last NYC meeting. Maybe someone who was at that meeting can give some info if that was the case.
Possibly a new meet can happen.
 
Yeah B&H did, but then they said they couldn't do it anymore. I think the guy that hosted it for us doesn't work there anymore.

We just need someone to take charge of finding a venue and whatnot, or the guys that were doing it to take charge again.
 
I'm headed to Cuba for 2 weeks (work and play). When I get back I will start a search for locations. I live in the East Village in NYC. If anyone out there is in NYC also lets join forces. If the meeting is even close to being as helpful as this forum it will be very valuable.
 
Hey, I would be happy to help organize a meeting. I live in Hoboken but commute to Manhattan everyday. I know a few spots in Hoboken where we could meet, but that is kind of a trek for most of you (especially those in the outer boroughs).
 
Just curious if anyone else is back to "grind" yet ;)

herbalmedia, Hoboken is closer for some of us so I'd be up for it!
 
Well, there's a bar nearby with a lounge area that is empty most weeknights. I know the owners fairly well (actually they may be producers of my next documentary) and I'm pretty sure that we could use that space on a Monday night. I'll talk to them this weekend.
 
So, the owners of the bar were not around this weekend, but I am 99% sure it would be fine to meet there on a Sunday or Monday evening for a couple of hours.

What do you guys think? Give me some dates and I'll talk to them this week.

We could also consider asking the folks at DCTV if they would consider donating their space for a couple of hours. I just recently joined, but I wouldn't opposed to asking them if we would rather have a Manhattan meeting...
 
I"m in Hoboken too. So that works nicely for me. How's next Monday night 1/14?
I'm sure there are plenty of available spaces around town. Let me know if you'd like suggestions.

Let us know if/when you talk to the bar owners to find out possible dates.
You could at least put two (myself and tumbleweed) down for getting together in hoboken! ;)

As for DCTV, that might sound more inviting to those in the outer boroughs.
Maybe others will speak up in the meantime and that could indicate if DCTV would be a worth while location.

If anyone is interested let's plan for 1/14 (monday in Hoboken). Exact location TBD. Casual meet and greet and grab a beer.
 
So, I finally talked to the owner of The Goldhawk in Hoboken. He said Mondays are cool, so I propose that we meet either Monday 1/28 or Monday 2/11. Please let me know which works better for you and what time (8pm? 9?), and I'll get the final confirmation. They have a lounge area that would be perfect for a meeting.

I will bring my rig to show... anyone else in the area, please come (with or without your camera)!! I look forward to meeting some of you soon.
