SG pro rev3 vs Letus Extreme in regard to creative options

Just as a few points of fact here.

You did say "You are wrong" to me.

I did not tell you you should endorse the Brevis.

I'm also not trying to shove opinions on anyone. Rather I'm trying to keep a little open mindedness on these claims.

I'm sorry I implied that you hadn't run your own tests - I don't think you mentioned it before - glad to see you did and I don't dispute your observations.

Why don't we drop this now.

Just an observation.

I can't speak for other adaptor but I own the LEX.

When people say that the LEX looses 1/2 stop they are right. That is the actual amount of light lost as it passes through the adaptor.

With my HVX the actual light loss is more because you have to zoom in were the effective f stop goes from f 1.6 to f 2.4

The adaptor lost 1/2 stop and the camera lost another. That's about 1.5 stops.

Now if you were shooting for example at f 2.8 and then add the adaptor, then the you loose 1/2 stop.

If you use 50 mm f 1.2 you basically don't loose any more light, but if your lens is f 2.8 you need 4X the amount of light. The adaptor is still loosing 1/2 stop but you actually need more light.

I have rated my ASA at 200 with the camera f 2.4 at 1/48th sec shutter.
I like the resolution of the camera lens at f 4.0 so that reduces the effective ASA to 100.

If you can follow what I just tried to explain here, then you can see why there are so many different rating for the same adaptor.

Just played with Timur's SG Flip Module. Because it was a beta we had some alignment issues. But the good news is it's actually lighter than my LE and more compact. Go figure.

Just finished shooting a film with the LE and may have some edge to edge issues. Could not get the left or right 1/5 of the frame sharp at any stop. Need to test it against my SG again to see if this is an adaptor or lens issue.

Anyone come up against this?

The differences between your tests and mine make me want to test again. It's bafflling. Mentioned this elsewhere, the SG with the flip is smaller than I expected. Much lighter and more compact than my LE.
