new short film

It was really weird, and I'm not sure if I mean that in a good way or a bad way.
It seemed like you were going for a serious tone, than the record screech kicks in and I thought the whole thing was gonna be a comedy. But then you went back to a serious tone and ended on it. I dunno, It just took me out of it, made it less believable.

Also the ending needs a bit of work, if anything just cut some campfire footage in there so it looks like something is burning, the way it ended (again) took me out of it and made it feel amateurish.

Anyways, aside from a few things, good job, but not really my cup of tea.

???

???

Few questions, did you light the set other than the lights visible? Where was the psycho wife all this time? (If she wasn't at home)

Hey benjerama, thanks for the feedback! yes, it was intentionally a weird piece and i wasnt sure that anyone was going to get it at all... because after all its some like some demented nightmare in some aspect haha. i originally wanted it to have some "life" or humor to it, as opposed to something completely morbid and one dimensional. i totally agree with you on the ending, i just couldn't figure out a logical way to end it, while maintaining believability.

hey vinark,

for the most part, the light sources that are visible (lightbulbs on ceilings), where the main key lights for most of the film, and i used bounce cards to control the fill, whenever possible. i also used a 250 watt halogen lamp to light the wife character when she's standing in between the door frame, that was propped up right behind the right side of the door frame

now the question about the wife- its not so much, where has she been, its more of a question of why is this man spending all of his time (or most of his time) in this basement, when his wife is practically going bananas because she hasn't gotten any attention from him.

hope that answers your question!

It had that sort of weird feel about it and it reminded me of the movie series "Saw" in a strange kind of way. I liked it, it was well done and I liked the overall look and tone of the movie.
One thing, why the credits scrolling the opposite way???

shaun1970-
although im not an "established" fan of saw lol, i still thank you for liking it and the feedback:happy:

credit wise, i thought i would make the credits scroll down to add to the whole "this looks like its from hell" feeling haha, so why not make the credits scroll down into the imaginary abyss of "hell"??!

it was hit or miss though... im not sure too many people understood the intentions of that choice
