DVX100A footage integrated into 100B production

Hi, I have been producing an independent short, which we shot the majority of footage for on a DVX100B. However, the camera was borrowed from a friend, and it is no longer available for reshoots we need to do.

I found someone willing to sell a 100A plus Sennheisser ME67 mic for $1850--A) is this a good deal, B) will the footage be able to integrate into the DVX100B shots without looking too out of place?

Thank you very much!

Yes it's a SWEET deal and the footage should not differ too much seeing as the DVX100B didn't update much as far as image quality goes. It should work nicely, and I reccommend taking the deal for that Mic is quite good.

If anyone can tell the difference between footage shot on a dvx100a and a dvx100b, then they are the shizznit. It will match completely.

Great, thank you. I assumed as much but I wasn't sure. What are the major changes? If I was pretty comfortable with the 100B, should I be able to use the 100A comfortably? Thanks again.

The only cahcnges where some minor "feature" upgrades .. the cameras themselves haven't really changed at all. You will find them pretty much identical in performance and operation.

I can't comment on the DVX100A. But I can say that I have shot with a DVX100 and a DVX100B on a multicamera shoot and the DVX100B did a bit better in low light and rendered contrast and color differently for some reason. The DVX100 seemed to have a bit more contrast. They both were shooting in 60i with scene file adjustments all at 0. If it's not in the same scene, you will definetly be okay with shooting with the two slightly different cameras. If your matching the camera in a continuous action scene you need to be a little more careful.

i seen a real difference in the 100d being less grainy then the 100a.this is why i've been looking to buy the 100b again for wedding shoots.
