WW2 Tiger Tank RC 1/6 scale model FINAL battle movie inc. SFX

Immediately after acquiring my HV20, I traveled to visit family in the UK for Christmas and this is the first footage I got and my first film with this wonderful technology. My father, as his hobby, built an exact replica, in superb detail, of a German World War 2 Tiger Tank in Winter color scheme. The soldiers are 12 inches tall, for scale purposes. The tank is around 1 metre/just over 3 feet in length and weighs 352 lbs.

Settings were 24P/Cinemode- edited (now I'm back in the US) in Sony Vegas movie Studio Platinum still in it's free trial period!

See it in HD at http://www.vimeo.com/475583

Enjoy!

Thats an amazing looking replica. Explosions are okay, need some dirt sprays. Muzzle flash looks awful.

It does look cool, but as mentioned the explosions and muzzle flashes need work. The rest is fantastic, especially that AWESOME replica.

That's an impressive model there. It is amazing how it even almost works when there is leaf litter in the foreground that belies its true scale. Nice!

Good work on the camera angles. It's really hard to get scale to work right without a snorkle lens. Did you say you overcranked? A model of that size should be shot between 32 and 36fps.

because when you use scaled models the gravity and momentum are not scaled properly. So you need to slow down the footage speed otherwise things will accelerate too quickly (like when the tank drove over the hill, it wouldn't pitch over that quickly if it was a full sized tank)

The special effects aren't craptastic but they leave a lot to be desired.

Now, the film footage and sound were very very well done!

All in all I would give you an A+!

Thanks for sharing some really cool work!

Oh, HV20. Yes, then you might play with velocity envelope in Vegas and bring the tank footage down to somewhere between 90 and 97.5% speed. I think it should take the edge off.
