The IndiMatte...Resistance is futile

The indiMATTE is sounding pretty exciting, both speaking to Tim and hearing the threads a buzz with it.

Tim, pictures, pitcures, pictures !!!!

Just got word from Tim that there might be something a little special in my package. I had ordered some extended rails for use on my HVX/SGPRO/indiFOCUSpro so I wonder what it might be?

It cleared customs yesterday so I hope to get my package on Monday...

OHMYGOSH!!!

When tim said he was sending me something a little special in my package he wasn't kidding. Tim decided to ship me a fully working prototype of the indiMATTE.

Straight out of the box its a nice piece of kit. Lightweight, nice size - its not going to make my camera front heavy thats for sure.

Its got two filter stages [rotating] and a flag. Easy to adjust and lock the flag.

There's a set of foam donut rings for use with different size lenses - nice !

The swing out mechanism is swe-e-e-e-e-e-t ! Its a swing arm with magnets at the end for quick locking. It works a treat and is rock solid. The arm is then locked in place until you swing it out so there's no chance of movement.

I'll get it set up on my SGPro/HVX combo and post some pictures tonight !!

Thanks Tim - Xmas came twice !!!!!

If $349 is the price its a bargain - that's for sure.

Til later on !

Sorry guys, it arrived when I was on my way out. I'll post pictures in about 9 hours time which is when I get home from work and have time to set up and take some decent pictures.

Thanks

Richard ,
Let us know the weight and material also.
I got to see this. I'll settle for quick snap shots for now.
You can setup your rig next time.

I'm ready to call Tim to order after I see some pics.
Thanks

speed is essential, don't even unpack the box if it's transparent :cheesy:

Sorry all, I was up most of the night on an emergency edit - seriously :(

But all is good now ! :)

I quickly got this on my rails and fired off some shots this morning. It looks and works well. The swing out mechanism is easy to use and snaps solid shut. Great work on that !

And there's plenty of room when it swings out to get to the lens.

As you can see the vertical riser is adjustable and there's plenty of room to go higher for Letus users I believe.

As we speak Tim is working on some modifications to make it even better - what can I say he's fast !

Here are the piccys I have - sorry for the lunch boxes scattered around it ...

Hmmmm.... it looks absolut idantical to my India made Mattebox - down to the last nut and bolt.
Including the foam washers and all. Look at the Filterholder, it is the same.<Frenchflag and holder - the same. Even that little pods at the side where the latches for the sideflaps mount at mine. The pods are there at the Indibox but not the latches.

Looks like they take that cheap mattebox and just add the swing out mechanism.

How much do they ask for it?
