"Rescue Me" Music vidya.

Great looking footage and lighting. Wow this looks like a really elaborate music video what with the helicopter and all. Care to share what the lighting details were like? The letus economy is a greeaat adaptor...I'm in love with mine as well.

great video...always nice to see a rock video WITH a story line...

only complaint would be that it seemed like tension was not present in the rescue. It didnt feel urgent. I think instead of the chopper coming in, I woulda spent that money (if it even cost anything for the chopper) on one of the cars being on fire. That would have brought the lacking tension to a high.

just my 2 tho, congrats on the wonderful video!

EP2005 makes a good point actually. It didn't cross my mind when i watched it, but i realise also that you can softly layer the sound of sirens when you see the emergency vehicles? I've seen some music videos where they add subtle sounds like that and it really adds to the effect

hey guys! thanks for the comments. The band had to pull a lot of strings in order to get this vid off the ground, they are without a doubt, the hardest working band we have worked with. The lead singer is a firefighter so the the ambos, trucks, police cars, and copter were all free. We had no idea the copter was gonna be there until a few hours before it landed. It took 3 hours out of our shooting schedule so we had to scrap a few scenes in order to film it. If were up to me I wouldnt have used it but the band had there heart set on it since it was a available. As far as lighting goes, I used 2 britek 1ks for key light and we were able to get ahold of this massive light truck used to light major accident scenes at night, If I were to guess I would say it was about 5k worth of light.

Thanks again for the input guys Ill definitely keep that in mind for my upcoming vids, heres an ariel shot of the performance set to give you an idea of the lighting.

oh yeah...

the budget was around $2,000.00 for the 2 day shoot.

like I said the vehicles were free.
Hoses/water - free
The custom caution tape was - $240.00
the wrecked cars were - $300.00 including towing
Make-up/make-up artist - $100.00
food/gas - $200.00
My fee was - 50%.

So good man! A job well done. I got absolutely no complaints with the video. You did the song justice!

thanks guys! you're making me blush...

We primarily used a 50mm Nikon lens on the shoot to keep the tension high, I believe we only used a 24mm for the stretcher mounted shots. The 50mm did really well for a 60 dollar ebay lens.

The video rocks, great work.

Question: Did any of the music equipment get wet, or was the hose far enough away? Cuz it looks like it's right there in the action.

EDIT: Uh, I should clarify, did anything get WRECKED by the water? I see the drums got wet. :D

The images just keep getting better as it goes on. I love the concept also. $2000.00, Wow. What about the helicopter. That set it off. It looked alot bigger then what was paid. Great job.

I'll say someone called in alot of favors, lol.
