coolest cell phones

My brothers pocket PC/GSM/Sat Nav/ phone was doing everything the Iphone (bar the Wifi) also about 3 to 4 years ago, so yea Iphone is just... well sexy :) thats the difference.

You know the saying "Sexy sells" something or other...

//EDIT:

maybe its just me, but I never really got on with touchscreen buttons, they seem a bit awkard, just give me real buttons :)

Yeah my old phone could record and play back video, too. But you put up an iphone screen & video vs just about any other cell phone's screen & video, and the iphone walks away every time. It looks HD, it's extremely crisp, and there's nothing else that gets in the way of "presentation" like buttons or anything else that's lit. It's a beautiful, big screen that sucks up anyone's attention.

I HATE my RAZR. I can't wait to replace it.

EDIT:
I've had good coverage with Verizon. No complaints about the service, just hate the phone.

Verizon seems to be the best service in NYC. But, not in other areas of the country. REally depends where you take it. I've had many carriers for work and they've all had their pros and cons when it comes to service across the country. Cingular used to be horrible. But, that was 3-4 yrs ago. All I can confirm is that Verizon is decent in NYC.

I just ordered a Nokia 6126... I'm a simple man... I was thinking about going with the Iphone, but the price and the touchscreen turned me off... Plus, I've heard Nokia's have the best coverage sensitivity...

Nokias kick ass.

Thats creepy, I had one of those

aah the fond memorys of the simple joys of "Snake".... (not to be confused with Snakes on a plane) although you could play snakes on a plane, the Hostess would most likley tell you off and have you switch it off.

My mom had that phone for a few years.

The only thing appealing about the iPhone to me is the way internet browsing works.

$20 a month for internet on a phone is kind of steep. Apparently T-mobile has it for around $7, so if I got an iPhone I'd try to do the hack.

Can anybody sell me on a phone that has better function/ease for internet browsing than the iPhone?

Things I like about the Iphone:

1-Fantastic Screen
2- Ipod integrated
3- Good looking device- This matters on presentations
4- VIDEO OUT- This is a life saver, and the quality of the video is good too- it even lets you select 16/9 display modes- either with black bars or full screen.
5- Wifi- here not so much, since we have to pay for everything and there are very few " hotspots".

6- Pal/NTSC compatible! take THAT Panasonic :)

Don't like:

1- Limited HDD space.
2- 2.5G- no 3G
3- Heavy
4- Phones input purposely designed for not accepting regular headphones.
5- Doesn't accept all video files. Videos compressed for the Iphone format are poorer than the ones converted for the Ipod. So do convert your videos in the IPOD format if you intend to output to TV!

My son bought a PRADA phone on Ebay. He hated all the restrictions on the iphone and decided to get the iphone's competition - Prada. Just buy one unlocked on Ebay and then transfer your sims card, viola!

Maybe I'm seeing it wrong, but I'm pretty sure the compression on the iphone is better than the ipod. It not only has a larger max resolution (480x320 as opposed to 320x240 on ipod), all other factors remaining constant. And i've moved files from my ipod video to my iphone and they don't look good. I think if you use a program like isquint and put in custom settings (I always do maximum resolution, highest quality and let isquint decide the bitrate), they always come out amazing.

In general I think everyone should get an unlocked phone. It's completely stupid to have to buy a new phone if you want to switch carriers.

Was looking at the Tilt. I hate SMSing with telephone keypads...

...but then I noticed that I'd have to get a $150/month contract to use it.

That's more than my cable/internet/house phone put together.

Don't need to spend all that to get calls from my wife asking me to pick up a quart of milk once in a while.

Oh, yeah, and I'm not going to walk around like Uhuru, either, so that particular accessory is right out.
