What's the name of that artsy movie from about 30 years ago that is about 45 minutes long and consists, entirely, of a slow dolly in towards an open window?

Why do I want to know? It's always stuck with me and I don't know why. I saw it as a kid and again in a film class at UCSD. I want to see it again and figure out where its power comes from because I've always wanted to adapt and produce a certain short story that requires the same kind of starkness, austerity and tension. I'd never make anything so abstract though--not my style.

Thanks Zak!

Here's a quote from the guy who made it:

Michael Snow on Wavelength - "I wanted to make a summation of my nervous system, religious inklings and aesthetic ideas. I was thinking of planning for a time monument in which beauty and sadness of equivalence would be celebrated, thinking of trying to make a definitive statement of pure Film space and time, a balance of 'Unison' and 'Fact', all about seeing. " - From 'Film Is: The International Free Cinema' by Stephen Dwoskin)

Glad he cleared it up for us...

jesus.

...him, not you. i wonder if this inspired the last shot of The Shining? seeing as how it's actually a photograph, not a window.
