An HVX+Brevis+BATLH80w monitor setup- Pictures

After struggling with the Brevis for focus with the internal LCD, I went ahead and purchased the Panasonic BTLH80w monitor. However, I really wanted the BTLH80w to be mounted on camera, in a somewhat handheldable solution. After much searching, this was the setup I found most confortable with. The monitor stays solidly fixed on the HVX (no bouncing and unstable feel), and the weight, without the Anton Bauer battery connected to the monitor and to a belt, is bearable for handheld. The Monitor on this configuration balances the heavy front end of the brevis+lens.

Hope this helps someone on the fence!

What is the adapter you use to mount the monitor to the hvx?

its a lightweight but rugged Cullmann head. Works perfect. However, you need to find a two headed screw- To turn the base Cullman Hole into a screw to mount on the HVX- take a look at my close up picture of the Cullman, and you see what I mean. You can get that at any Bricolage or electcric store.

I think the best set up is with a Noga arm. Lets you position your monitor like an EVF, especially for shoulder mounted.

If you're limited to the handle mount (no rods) another good option is the BT-MOUNT from Panasonic.
