Anybody selling skater dollies?

Bob Hill- That looks like a great product you have there, and at a nice price. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

Kwan,

Sorry about not getting back but I am running around like a maniac filming for a couple of commercials. Anyway, I just sent you a pm. I also should have the demo for the tabletop dolly available by the end of the week.

Heavy Duty Skater

Heavy Duty Skater

Here comes the update on the Red Skater

http://picasaweb.google.com/edi.schneider.3/RedSkaterPrototype

Santa just brought it in and we'll be shooting a music video with it these days, so I'll show you footage.

As I mentioned before, this is really heavy duty, like no other DIY you've seen around ... and it's not gonna be cheap. At least $2,000 - $2,500. We still have to make extensive testing and fine tuning before shipping the first unit.
It will be a small series, all coming CNC-machined with the name or company of the future owner.

stay tuned for more ...

Edi

I can't post ebay links here but I've got a couple of these left because someone decided to jump ship (I made a few for some dvxusers and friends): http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=93323

I have them on ebay for $800 USD, but you are welcome to contact me directly if you want. PM me your e-mail and I'll send you pictures and referrals if you want.

does the red skater come without the ussr tag? I don't want to have to buy something and then have to paint over it.

Hey Bob, how much weight does the Silverback unit holds? Do you think it'll survive an A1 + Letus Extreme + Rail combo?

Jade8472,

We tested it with 100lbs and it was fine. That said I also did my "gorilla" test and stood on it while one of my guys did some pans and it was fine, and I come in at a svelt 250lbs. All that said we recommend not going over 50lbs in camera and accessory weight.

These both look like excellent products...I might be opening up my wallet soon :D

Bob, the fact that you dolly can handle so much weight is a BIG plus for situations like the one described by Jade8472 (I have the same setup).

Edi, how much weight can the Red Dolly handle? when can we expect to see some footage?

Jason, the USSR tag was a joke ... of course it will come without that.

We are thinking about tagging each unit according to the client's wishes.

Rawfa, we designed it to handle 80 pounds.

We have shot a music video and I did some tests with my 5 year old son playing with it. You will see the footage and some "making of" very soon.

Meanwhile, here are some pictures from the first shooting ...

Edi,

two thumbs up, your construction looks really impressive!
Looking forward to getting more details! :)

Best,
Max.

Sorry for the late answer, but I have been shooting for 3 weeks at a monastery up in the mountains, far from civilisation.

In the meantime, we improved the design by adding what was missing : the laser and the brake. It was also extensively used in the field, under rough conditions, to see how it behaves under heavy use & abuse.

Stay tuned for some footage & making of in the following days.

regards,

Edi
