Movies You Would Rather Vomit On Than Watch Twice

If you were around 11 when E.T. came out, watching it today makes the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. "That . . . was . . . MY . . . room" . . .

'ET' is horribly, shamelessly manipulative of its audience.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

When they were mixing the score, John Williams said to Spielberg at the climax, "This movie is shameless.", to which Spielberg replied, "It is. The best movies are."

Ringmaster
Fantasia
SW Episode 1 - can't get through 10 minutes of it
Family Plot, still can't believe Hitchcock made this.
Signs - can be somewhat amusing on the first watch, but fell apart, plus Mel Gibson's in it.

I love Titanic

I'm an old softy.

I'm somewhere in between. I recognize the skill with which a lot of this film is made, and the romance does work, but I can't overlook the dime store quality of the dialogue and cheapness of Billy Zane's mustache twirling bad guy. And I hate the film's freak-of-nature box office and oscar success for making Cameron complacent and bored with filmmaking for the past 10 years.

I'm sure the overblown, over-hyped, over-funded nature of the film has something to do with my opinion.

But really, I just can't sit through it. And I am an old softy too. I love Steel Magnolias and It's a Wonderful Life. Just can't bring myself to care about anybody on that damn boat though. Watching Leo slip under the waves was like watching my trash go into the chute. Nothing. There are worse films, many of which have been named here, but Titanic is on my all time list.

That's not the scene that grabs you by the balls...
The one that does is the curtain call finale, where Rose goes to titanic heaven.

Hudson, how many times have you and I been in Titanic's corner for a big bout as chief second and cut man respectively?

The Flock - 0/10

Horrid directing and even worse editing. I am 100% confident I will never see this piece of cinematic trash again. What a waste of talents from Richard Gere and Claire Danes.
