Adding Passage of Time/ clock text to timelapse!!!!

Greetings all,

I just did a 2 day timelapse for a client in a building and I need to add a passage of time clock to the video as a title overlay. Like basically 7:30am-10:00 am and it's compressed down to be like 5 minutes and sometimes 10 minutes, etc.

Anyone have a quick and easy way to accomplish this. I'd like to be able to set the title graphic on the front frame and have it end on the last frame at the time. I was thinking of maybe just a timed one sped up too.. whatever I neeed some info pretty please.

I'm on FCP btw and this is HVX footage. Anyone with a good solution.. help is greatly appreciated..

cheers

Anyone have a simple method. I might have to set up a timecode generation with the numbers and then do it as an overlay.. unless anyone help me out here?

Why not generate a clip of 2 1/2 hours of timecode, compression would keep it tiny as it would be white text on black, then load it back and retime it as you wish, keeping frame-blending off. Then comp it back on as 'maximum' or something and all the black will disappear.

Slightly lengthy making it, but very quick to then get the look and speed you want.

Another option is to ad in a graphic with a simple time line. Then animate a little pointer to move along the time line - all you need is keyframes at the start and end of the line - be sure to have the keyframes set to "linear" and it'll move smoothly as the frames dash by in the background. Or you can make it look like a progress bar for example.

Of course, that's a different looking graphic to timecode, but it's quick and works :)
