Letus Extreme rig photos

A Letus extreme rig from Argentina.

I finally finish my rig for my Letus extreme and hvx 200 camera.
I read al the DVX User all the forums and opinions of which are the best way to put everything together.
My conclusions are:
First thing is that I decide to put the extreme in the upper way. That decision was made because it aligns better the screen and I don’t have to zoom in to much like in the down position (out aligned from the center)
Second with the Extreme upside the camera , adapter, follow focus and matte box feels and look more compact.
Third thing is that I didn’t like to lift the camera up in the base plate. I feel that looks and feel unstable I prefer to keep the camera close to the plate and lift the other elements.
I put together:
Panasonic hvx200
Letus extreme
Redrock baseplate
Redrock Folow Focus
Deargear Matte box.
Tripod and head Cartoni Focus
I made 4 custom pieces to rise the elements.

1) support of the extreme adapter
2) for the follow focus
3) I change the support of the deargear that is plastic (and it feels weak) for a metal support
4) I made a long lens the Nikkor 300.
All the pieces arte made in aluminium and have the possibility to regulate the high.
These are photos of the pieces and the rig.
Thank for all the opinions you have wright in the forums and I hope these ideas can help other DVXuser members.

For a topic titled "Letus Extreme Rig Photos" there sure is a lot of chat with bugger all rig photos...Someone got a post with just LEX rig photos??

the post above yours looks like a LEX rig.

Yeah good point, I probably shouldn't have bitched right after some nice pics but you get the point I'm trying to make, not many nice shots like these throughout.. Show me more pics!! yeah

Hey Pepecompra:

Nice rig! You did a good job putting it all together.

How is your Panasonic monitor powered? Seems like it could be a lot of weight for the HVX-200 tapped hole on the handle or does it seem solid and secure?

Dan

Hola Pepecombra:

Soy de Argentina y estoy hace rato viendo de comprar el Letus Extreme. ¿Como va tu experiencia con el adaptador? ¿Lo hiciste traer por alguien o te lo mandaron via correo? Gracias y saludos.

Thank you Puredrifting.

Yes I feel the same the monitor is to have for the plastic handle of the camera, plus the problem of the component cable that is very easy to break I am working in a piece that is fix to the base plate with an arm that can hold the monitor and at the same time can be a gear to attach the cable an secure it.
I use a 12 volt battery with the monitor but is not attached to the monitor so it doesn't give me more weight.

Does anyone have their rod assempbly on a DvProRig HD?

I am going to pick up the rig but I am worried that the Letus support riser will have to be sawed off on the bottom to allow the whole thing to sit on the ProRig.

If you look at this picture, and imagine the rod assembly on top of a ProRig, you will get an idea of what I am talking about.

Here is a photo of the ProRig with rails on top.

I just can't tell if there will be enough clearance....

Is it time to get out the hacksaw?

On the A1, the Letus turned up presses against the built-in microphone. (I have seen a photo of it somewhere). While it is not major, I would rather not do that - I think I would rather saw the riser.

My rods show up tomorrow, so I can just take my whole rig down to the shop and put it on the ProRig.

Heres my long delayed addition to the HVX LEX family, had all kinds of shipping related damage issues but the guys at Letus took it back, fixed it, and sent it back 2 day fedex just in time for the holidays. This is my first attempt at rail setup with letus adapter support and zacuto z-riser, its stable as can be snorkel up but now that I look at it I think there are some other mounting options, for example the zacuto baseplate allows more movement up and down for the hvx and so does the z-riser, the letus support has a whole lot of adjustment as you can see in the pic, I havent tried it but maybe theres a way to support the adapter snorkel down without using the extra 4" rods (definitely not with a matte box though). Now that I think about it is everyones support screw on the LEX up where mine is? I guess that part of the adapter can be rotated as can the one on the camera side to make it line up with the support hole but Ill have to check on that...

It was probably a picture of my rig - I haven't thrown my UV filter back on but I'm thinking that just that 1 - 2 mm difference may clear the LEX from the mic - I'll test tomorrow.

Being that the mic is actually flexable, I'm not so worried - Haven't run into any issues yet -

I just took delivery of the new longer riser from Letus, I'll throw that on and show a pic of raised rails (snorkel up) using 2 letus rail mounts and the longer riser - pretty stoked about this setup.

HI dvxusr,

Love the way your rig looks like....if I understood correctly you're using the zacuto setup on the picture you're showing...

thanks cc, thats correct, its the zacuto baseplate, the metal rods that came with it, the 10" or so extension rods, the zacuto z-riser and the short 4" extensions that come with it, the adapter support is part of the letus package. i know it looks a bit crooked but thats just perspective and the fact i just put it on the ground without leveling, everything is straight and feels tough as a tank (and front heavy lol)

Here are photos I took this morning of my current set-up. The sachtler head has a plate that allows you to balance everything by moving back or forward until you are balanced. So no problem balancing all of this what so ever

For the sake of simplicity, I am keeping my adapter bolted onto my HVX at all time. And got a case to allow me to take it with me to my shoots, that way:
