sanken cs1 & Mixpre

So I have my CS 1 + a lav. wireless connected to the mixpre and suddenly sound started going up and down ( exactly like a video camera on automatic sound level) I checked everything, the camera is manual, not limiters on the mixpre, not roll off, just phantom. I canceled the CS1, and the lavalier is running perfect. Camera changed tape and I changed batteries on the mixer, problem is gone........for one hr. Now I don't have the lav. and changed batteries again, producer is looking at me with a weird face, problem is gone for, you guessed, another hr, but it's the wrap.
I ran out of power before, but the mic. just died on me, it wasn't going up and down like this one. Does this sound like a phantom power issue for you guys?
Is the CS1 so power demanding that kills the mixpre in one hr?
Any solution? besides switching mixer

Oleg, my motorboating was so bad the Low frequency rollloff didn't fix it. Also got worse when I turned up the gain.... not just louder.... worse.

Hi guys
the low fq filter didn't work. It made better and attenuated the motorboating a lot, but it wasn't 100% eliminated. I'm getting ready to travel to the jungle in Bolivia and I need reliability, on top of that I'm bringing all Sanken mic package,, so i got a Shure FP 33 for almost the same price than the mixpre. I guess everybody wants SD and the Shure is almost a give away. Now the problem is gone for good.
Thanks anyway. It was a good learning process, I never have this problem before.

I though about it but I didn't want to spend more money trying to improve the Mixpre, when it was better burn that cash upgrading to a real mixer

why not? better battery life, real mixing capabilities, good meters, well built, mic/line input, mic/line output, unlinked phantom power, and I found it quieter even if everybody says it's not. What do you don't like about it, I'm probably missing something.

Well, I don't like the metering. Had some here at school start dying. One had the master fader mysteriously reverse itself. Clockwise would turn it down, could never figure it out. Actually, I do like the fact that the FP33 has gain trim, Mixpre doesn't.
So yes, I admit it. It's very usable. Still don't like the metering.

I couldn't swing the wendt x3 or Sd 302 ( + phantom power supply), and got the shure for a very good price. Not the best sound in town but I still think is an improvement over the Mixpre, besides the fact of having an extra input. I liked the sound of the mixpre................until I used the sanken cs1.

A piece of advise is to use the mixer to its full potential beside stretching out for a new piece of mixer.
