Record uncompressed 14-bit (4:4:4) on your HVX200

Well at this point you have to look at the positives of what came out of the hydra project..............Many wasted hours and 63k additional page views for DVXuser.com, maybe that's the root of the conspiracy.

It is rather unfortunate that technology at that price will more than likely never see the likes of day, but I think at this point any conversation is just......

In case you haven't seen, Juan posted again at reel stream forum. Hope he doesn't mind me quoting his whole message :undecided, but I figure he's trying to set the record straight for Andromeda owners, so here goes:

"Hello everyone,

I think some of you might have misunderstood my original post, I intended it to be an initial update on the status of the company and technology, but I did not mean to imply that the support would vanish, only that we wouldn't be installing new units.

The forum is obviously still here. I will be available over email as always to answer support questions. The software is still at the same download locations which users should have, but I will create a sticky post with all the download links. There will be at least one more SculptorHD update, following the current Beta version(with Preview).

About an open-source version of SculptorHD, I will bring it up and see what happens.

Hope this clears things up a bit.

Cheers,
Juan."

Pity he doesn't reveal any other goss, but that's life.

If they get it up and going and it looks as good as RED, I don't think that it'll be a problem.

I wonder if Juan went there. =P

So does that device just need a body and lens along with software to decode the signal? Where did you find the price info? This could be interesting.

Hmmmm

It ain't Hydra... but it costs the same and offfers the same benefits. It's definitely something I'm watching for now.

Looks interesting. But I see no price. How much does it cost?

It seems it already comes with capturing software. So you would only need a computer, much like the SI2K mini I think, although certainly much more crude.

It´s not over! There is still some hope.

Here is what Juan wrote in the Andromeda Forum.
(I´m not sure if this was postet before but I don´t want to go throu
90 pages)

SculptureHD as a open-source version? Holy cow! That´s half the deal. We need "only" to find out how the hardware modification can be done.

I took a look at the sample footage and stills, it looks like there is some strange horizontal lines in them. Also, pixelated a bit too. I got my hopes up and then the samples let me down. :(

something nice coming

the 4k looks like a bad effect like stretched pixels due to the converter multiplying the 2k signal, BUT the native 2k out of the sensor smokes any camera in the 6 to $12,000, at 4:4:4, 10.5 stops (for now) and 2k res.

Paul,

Check carefully as all samples are not from the model Kholi referred to. I noticed the pixelation until I read which pic sample belongs to which cam model. The pics with the flowers is the one he is talking about!

Cheers,

Gualbert

Haven't they been talking about this camera head in Alternative Imaging forum (or whatever they call it here)?
Think people are already trying to use it.
