Forget HYDRA get 2K AND 4K NOW

Hello fellow filmmakers, its been a long night. 10.5 stops is where its at.
4k is 4:2:2 at all Frame Rates:love4:

2k is 4:4:4 at all frame rates

External Recording options are in the works. Hard Drives are cheap.

Cant give much more info than now. A clip is coming very soon.

I'm confused.
Are you still talking about converting DVCProHD footage - or are you now talking about some new kind of codec?
 
Uncompressed to External laptop drive. Export using software to any codec and size! we're talking raw. Bypass all compression:Drogar-Happy(DBG):
 
luis, exact details cant be disclosed, but the image is raw of the imaging device, out through the real dream port- to laptop drive. HVX menus are still operational. Cinescenes dont work when your in real dream port mode. Frame rates are all operational. there's more than one technician in this world. tapping into the native sensor is not easy, but is not impossible.

2k 4:4:4 RGB 12bit is what you'd get

the Real Dream Converter will be an additional option for 4k 4:2:2 at $1399

yes it is, modification will be necessary, it will void your warranty from panny naturally. My fionesse and i are thinking in the range of $2733 Canadian plus shipping. She's the technician vodoo, our method is patented and unique.
The footage is f$%#$n mind boggling.
 
looks beautiful, jared. how much would it cost to uprez an existing post? would it give me the "film look"?

No Zak, the system for obtaining uncompressed posts in beautiful 4:4:4 is proprietary. So sorry.

I don't know if I'm following this thread correctly, but hundreds of people believed Juan had the Hydra system coming out with 4:4:4 2k uncompressed HD for all of your HVX's, you all fell right into it. So why would you disparage somebody else's product, which essentially seems to work the exact same way?

Even so, why would you want to make yourself look like a big asshole? Even if he doesn't deliver the footage (or the product), you don't need to be rude.
 
No, you're not following the thread correctly. I thought it was pretty clear this entire thread is killfilm's idea of a joke.

Anyone who thinks that upscaling footage in post will yield image quality the same as or even close to tapping into the electronics of a camera to get at the uncompressed video signal, well.... again I say:

Juan's Andromeda operation was a hardcore effort. The guy is a mad scientist who knows more than a little bit about electronics, engineering, programming, image processing, video algorithms and the like.

There's a reason his product was a rarety in the marketplace.



Ffaf, take another look at the two (identical) screen grabs of the guy in the goggles up above and tell me you think this is for real.

Upscaling doesn't do anything for the image though! That is the point of 2K and 4K, more resolution. Any piece of footage can be upscaled to a large size but that doesn't mean you can get better keys, color information, or detail out of it. Heck, it's the same deal as upscaling DVD players!

Unfortunately, the Hydra project is dead unless whoever bought the technology takes over.

The ideas in this thread are silly, to put it mildly. That's why I gave you the benefit of the doubt in assuming you were having some good natured fun with the whole thing. My post was intended to be in the same humorous vein.

Fearing now that you are serious, I'll just say, gently, that No, you did not accidentally invent a method of converting your HVX footage into 4k "without resolution loss" with a plugin, overnight. Sorry.

good points there. well respected, but mike johnson challenged me saying that he can uprezz images with genuine fractals and have perfect output! (good luck mike), i tried it, it dont look good. I think all the user comments proved that.

nothing personal against juan, but he aint the only engineer around. my fiance is a broadcast technician. If no road blocks along the way. you can have your 2k 4k footage.
