Hi there:)

So I've been dying to go out with my SGpro since I got it and finally; "not a rainy day!"

Used my Canon FD 35mm f2.0 @ f2.0.

Scene file F6
Setting was normal.

What really bugs me is the grain. Why is it so grainy? Do I have to set the master ped at -6 or something?
I know the DVX100a has more grain than the other versions, but is it really this much? I can't remember when or if I got this much grain without the SGpro..

Anyways, hope you like it:)

EDIT: I now know why it's so grainy.. The gain was on.. the gain!.. I never check the gain.. (cause I "almost" never use it!)

that looked really good...minus the gain.

Im thinking about breaking my gain switch off so I can never accidentally hit it.:D

Don't be concerned when you see grain even with the gain off. A little grain is always good. It adds that raw filmic touch.

great job otherwise though. Might want to work on focusing. Were you using a monitor?

Thank you:) appreciate it! :)

That's pretty smart, maybe I'll do that as well:grin:

I normally don't mind grain, but this was just so much.. I started thinking maybe something was wrong with the camera:P hehe
But.. the gain was on.. so no biggie..

Yeah I can work on focusing, though I kind of like unfocused footage.. I don't know, it just turns me on I guess:happy:

and no.. no monitor was used.. gotta get it someday soon..

Wow, I watched it again and I remember seeing it a lot clearer the first time. Just look at your skies as you pan across them. It's not extreme, but it's there for sure.

Top looking stuff there though.

Thanks =)

"I don't wanna sound like a *****", but I zoomed in at my high quality version.. and stared at the edges through the whole movie.. and no.. there is no vignetting. It's probably the compression or a dark cloud.. or maybe it's when I fade out?

anyways.. no vignetting.. I made sure of it this time

There is a slight vignette in some shots, but it doesn't look bad at all. Thanks for posting, I love to see stuff from the SG Pro.

Thanks for the comment:beer:

but.. I'm getting sort of irritated here.. there is no vignetting..
I've been (as I said) staring at the edges of the high(very high) quality version for some time now and there is no vignetting.. trust me..

aah I sound like a crazy person.. but please.. I'm being super cereal!

Very nice footage you got there. I didn't mind the grain at all but then again I like grain so I could be the odd man out here.

there is an easy way to check ot see if u have vignetting, whether its visual or not. and thats contrast it a la max and see how long it takes before you haev a white circle in hte middle, and red all around. till the edges are black ! :)

it looked really nice, considering it was just you following your friend about for a day : ]

who did the music?

It's a band called Papertrigger.. not that famous.. I actually heard of them on this forum. A guy used this song for a preview/trailer thingy.. Anyways.. I love the song..
