"MOTOS" - 16mm short drama

I liked it a lot, well done! Could you write some details about equipement you used. Camera, film etc. ? Thanks.

BTW It would be really great if you could upload it somewhere in better quality...

Very good!

I found that the editing could be tightened up a bit and that it dragged a little in spots. Still, overall this was a very nice piece of work.

Loved the ending!

Well done.

Mike

Thanks guys,

We shot on a Arri S with 50d Kodak film. We used a polarizer and some ND's. We had a few prime lenses and we also shot with the standard zoom lens. That's about it for equipment.

Thanks imryankohler,

I also wrote you an email to avoid spamming in the thread.
Is there any chance to see it in better quality ?

very nice short, I think the editing doesn't need changes, it's right on the money.

very sensitive piece.

dude I really loved that short. my only complain is there is no real resolution at the end, but still it works just as good. I just started caring for these characters that I wanted to know what happens next to them (and thats good right?)...

for your first 16mm short, great work! keep it up man!

did u shoot down in anza borrego?

I thought the whole point was that they can now follow the motorcycle tracks to civilization? That way they don't die from thirst/hunger after being left out in the middle of nowhere.

I thought it ended beautifully.

sorry I kinda missed that, I guess the compression from that myspace video didnt really show it, at least I dont remember... only that toy bike.... the monitors at work suck too, that doesnt help.

this deserves to be watched in better quality anyway!

Thanks guys,

I'm working on a website right now. Yea the ending is they follow the dirt bikers tracks with hopes to find civilization. A new hope arises, but the kid loses his interest in motorcycles (sort of).

We shot in Palmdale California. I was over 110 degrees outside each day of production (3 days). I almost passed out once.

Just watched this again... and I have to say I really really like this. This is great stuff. Who did the score? The film had like a Alejandro González Iñárritu vibe to it, just less intensity due to the slower pace, which I really enjoyed. Plus the music sounded like his films. The music was great as well. Sometimes I enjoyed it too much, the picture was less important, but what do I say here....

Great job man! Again, I really love your short man!
