Help! Have 2 hours to deadline - Print to Video Sound Problem (fcp / dvx100b)

i'm 'printing to tape' my movie. The movie is exporting / recording from FCP onto my dvx100b's dv tape without a problem, but the camera doesn't seem to be picking up any sound from my timeline.

What settings must I change? In FCP or on the Camera?

Thanks please respond if you have any knowledge on the subject!

Try an audio mixdown. Select All in the timeline and go to Sequence up at the top and select audio mixdown

or...

Nest your sequence and select audio mixdown.

You in the toronto film festival? lol i had the same problem. It was around mid night and when ever i would print to tape, id get no audio either. I finally figured it out

My first guess would be that you have your video playing back via the firewire port, but the audio is playing out of the Mac's line output (going to to your speakers, probably).
What you need to do is to change your settings so the audio is being sent through the same output as the video (Firewire).

First, go to the VIEW menu and check your "AUDIO PLAYBACK" settings.
Select "Audio Follows Video"

Then check your Playback settings.
Go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select "Audio/Video Settings"
The bottom of the first tab (Summary) will show you your Video and Audio playback settings. Make sure they both match. Then go to the last tab in that menu (A/V Devices) and make sure that you do not have different settings selected for the "Print to Video" option.
(the checkbox in the middle of the menu that says "Different Output for Edit to Tape/Print to Video" should be UNCHECKED)

Hopefully this helps you solve the problem.

Yeah, right? "I got the answer, nyahh nyahh"

My guess would be Luis' suggestion. That has happened to me before. I am always switching my audio output settings depending on which monitor set-up I am using.

Lol, OH! that is not cool.

i'm still new to final cut, but my only trouble shoot move always works. Exit final cut, disconnect everything except what you need to work (FW and camera), and start up FCP again. ta da

Well it was the next day. So it woudlt matter anyway cause the films were at 10 in the morning. But I didnt figure it out, my director (Hunter007) was working at it for a while and i said "what did you do?" and he said "i really dont no" but it worked....soo lol
