I’m trying to achieve some shots with the DVX that closely resemble reality and as such I’m trying to ascertain the Zoom setting of the DVX 100B (PAL) that most closely resembles the angle of view of the average human eye.
I was told on the Hollywood Camera Work DVD that the angle of view closest to the human eye for a 35mm film is 50mm lens.
By that standard and according to this chart…

…focal length of 51 mm for a 35mm normal lens corresponds to 11 mm focal length for a 1/3”ccd.
And according to Barry’s DVX Book, 11.3mm on the DVX is Z55.
So could we possibly say Z53/Z54 is roughly about the field of view of the human eye or am I totally off the board.
Could someone please advise
