Just wanted to share some stills from my short "The Atheist". You can read the production journal in the "User Films" forum.

This is the "before" shots, with color correction, bleach bypass and contrast added.​

Mike DeVenny busted up inside the ambulance.​

And after, with blue mid tones added for a cool light feel. It also takes away the "butchered" look.

Wow, I'm really shocked at how gross that looks. It looks good, but um, well I'm just stunned that's all, but great job on getting your actor to look that way. WOW!!
 
Yeah the make-up looks very realistic! Haha, I hate it when blood and cuts/etc look really fake. It looks great here though. CC doesn't look to bad either. Good job!
 
What did you use for the blood? Food coloring? Looks good.

Next time please post a warning about the graphic images on your title just in case.

Laura, the make up artist, used artificial blood she had, and mixed it with a bit of water, I think. She also had some kind of homemade blood gel for the deep gash.
 
I'm curious as to what other film makers here use for blood...
when I was 13 I made a short horror flick using ketchup, but that stuff stinks, dries up fast and looks like anything but blood...
