New HDDs come with Trojans preinstalled

I had a similar thing happen, a brand new gateway quad core, on the first boot, no net access... Mcafeee said that it had found a trojan and removed it, Im curious how much lab testing they get, because having programs conflict each other like that makes them look so bad.
 
I was actually very impressed by the lack of trial programs on the new computer I just bought. My last one had tons of AOL and Compuserve crap on it.
