My ENTIRE MySpace Film Profile was deleted!

Wow, what a freakin' nightmare! Yesterday everthing was going fine, and I was updating my MySpace profile with additional behind the scene pics from the film we just shot, "Berlin". That was around 1-2pm, PST.

Then I get a text message from Shawn Nelson (DVXuser's Shawneous) at about 4pm, asking what happened to my MySpace ... it appeared to be deleted?

I checked. Sure enough. GONE. All my films I had uploaded, the 4,000 plus friends that I had networked (some of which ended up as cast or crew on "Berlin" - so it is a good networking site), all my graphics, etc. All just deleted at the blink of an eye. My guess is that my page was hacked, and instead of just spamming my friends, the hacker may have assumed they could cause more grief my just canceling the account. Yep. It caused more grief.

If I could catch the person that did this, I'd be tempted to burn their house down ... :kali:...with them inside of it.

I'm now in the process of trying to rebuild it, but it's a slow, painful process. For whatever the reason, I couldn't even start a new account with the same email address, as it just came up with errors ... so I had to create a new email address, but scored the old URL.

Ho-humm. :nads:

If there was anyone on here who was a friend, please feel free to send me a new friend request. :)

There's probably thousands of myspace users with complaints at any one time so maybe give them two or three days before your start rebuilding the whole thing.

Myspace is quite easy to hack. Its actually quite scary how easy it is. Pretty much all one has to do is know how to access Google cache and they are set with a whole bunch of stuff to access your myspace page. Even if it is set on private.

Sorry to be the forebearer of bad news. I logged into my MySpace and noticed you were gone off my top friends, for a second I was like "did Norm delete me?" then I noticed you were gone off Shahna's page, Rebecca's page, Shan's page, etc.. D'oh!

Oh well, now you have a chance to rebuild how you want. Have you thought of having two MySpace page's? One for "Norm Sanders" that would have maybe a few hundred people that you actually know, then a larger "Envision" or "Norm Sanders Extraordinare" page that has thousands of people for the larger networking good?

myspace will restore hacked/deleted pages. the band i work for had theirs deleted and it took about a day or 2 of requesting to undelete it

Hey Shawn, it would only have been a matter of hours before I saw the problem myself anyway, so no worries. Unfortunately, a lot of people thought I deleted them, or was mad at them, etc.

As far as two pages, keeping one up is time consuming enough. Since I could always change company names some day (no plan to, but who knows), I'd rather just have one site to keep in contact with real people I know, as well as networking/advertising. Thanks for the suggestion though!

It's day four now (with LOTS of emails from me in the first two days), and still no reply from them. Perhaps, since I've occupied the same URL with this new page, they're not going to reply, not sure.

I re-friended you. Good Luck finding the guy. If you do, we can all fly to Washington and take turns giving him wedgies.
