85$ budget Chipotle Commercial (HVX+M2)

i thought it looked professional and was put together well. i got the joke, but i didn't think it was all that funny.

good job though man.

Yeah, good concept, though the exteriors looked a little soft, and I didn't care for the green tint. Also during the title, I would unwrap the burrito, at least half way. That is after all what your trying to sell, right? A piece of foil doesn't look too tasty to me!

Im kind of confused as to what exactly the pun of the joke was....maybe im retarded.

In his defense, I don't think there is anything to be done about that - that's what Chipotle's ads use, the burrito wrapped in foil. Kind of their 'thing'

The line isn't strong enough to carry it. If Chipotle was known for being open 24 hours and having tons of locations, then it would've worked. "Whenever. Wherever." really just doesn't apply to the brand, not to mention it's a phrase that's been heard over and over.

I understand Noah, but the main message I wanted to get across was their brand message that they always try to have quality ingredients and since Chipotle is around they can have it whenever they want (GREAT food, whenever wherever). And to Chipotle's defense they do have tons of locations with new ones opening on an average of 4 days.

i would have never known that based on the spoof part of the commercial. i thought the commercial was done technically well and looked good, but I didn't laugh or smile when the punchline came and that's normally what makes me even think about what the message was.

Okay, so then I misunderstood your message which, unfortunately, isn't any better. It's just not clear. Maybe instead of saying "Great food" you should say "Fresh food" or "Gourmet food." and present what was on the table in a more appealing manner. I can't even really tell what food it actually is. I now get that vase of apples is supposed to represent what these guys think is "good" food, but I didn't make the connection between that and Chipotle's food being "good" or "quality" or "gourmet" food.

On the upside, the guy in the hat's non-phased reaction at the end after his friend speeds off is great and the music works very nicely.

Is this a discussion about the comedic "merits" of a commercial, or about HVX200 footage with the M2? Recall the forum. Was the green hue done in post, or did you use some particular scene setting?

Justin I think it's a little bit of both. A video is only as good as the story. The people are making some good points and some good constructive criticism. This is why I posted it.

The green was mainly due to the foliage and poor compression IMO. I tried to warm the tones a little bit in post but I didn't try to make it green. It came out very dark on YouTube though. Oh well, the client likes it and that is what is important. I just need to make sure I pay more attention to lighting from now on. I'm such a n00b haha.

Thanks for all the comments so far :)

i don't think he would've posted it if he wasn't open to opinions (especially after nobody responded for a day) in general - in which case everyone is entitled. even the best commercials don't reach everybody.
