Not sure what else to call this type of story... but I'm looking for 'Urban Journey' movies....by which I mean a movie wherein the main character is forced to navigate an urban area he/she is unfamiliar or uncomfortable with....

While these films don't fit EXACTLY what I'm looking for... the only ones I've though of so far are:

After Hours
Eyes Wide Shut (sort of)
Killing of a Chinese Bookie (sort of)
Cavite

Generally all these films have a short timeline in common... with the entire story taking place over 1 night, or a 24 hour period.

So... any suggestions?

Oh dude.....c'mon. The best urban journey movie ever: THE WARRIORS

navigate an urban area-yes
entire story taking place over 1 night-yes

i'm not sure if some of these fit the criteria.

Midnight Cowboy
Die Hard With A Vengeance
Igby Goes Down
Roger Dodger
25th Hour

Yeah, I feel kind of stupid for not having though of the Warriors first.
That is very much along the lines of what I'm looking for...

Ha ha. Well, maybe it's not the "best"....but it's considered the best in the Focus household.

Louis, are you planning on scripting up an urban journey film of your own?

EDIT-I mean Luis

I have one in the works....script that is.
Wrote it a long time ago, and now we're dusting it off and seeing if there is anything there worth keeping. The basic concept we have is strong (I think) - but for all intents and purposes, we're going back to square one. As to whether or not it sees the light of day....time will be the judge.

If all goes well its possible I might have some news to share in the coming weeks (fingers crossed).
:)

So, in the meantime, I was just looking for some films I may not have seen to rekindle the old drive for these kinds of stories.

"Into the Night" - "Blue Velvet" - "Mulholland Drive" - "Bullworth", maybe - "Six Degrees of Separation" - "Bringing Down the House" - "Stranger than Fiction" - "Borat"
