There Will Be Blood - a film by Paul Thomas Anderson

His are some of the best written films I've ever seen. I've loved his stuff ever since Hard Eight/Sydney

I'm really looking forward to seeing this film.

i try not to give into hyperbole, but PERSONALLY PTA is one of my favorite filmmakers of all time, so the fact that it's being reviewed so well only reinforces my excitement

I look forward to the "new" Citizen Kane ;)

I'm excited for Christmas because of this film.

I can't wait. Looks really good.

I watch the trailer once every 2 or 3 days.

i read the book when i first heard about this film almost 3 years ago and it is Awesome. Really long but it sucks you in. check it out: Oil! by Upton Sinclair.

hmmm, that trailer's not nearly as good as the other one :( or even the original "trailer" posted on youtube many months ago. I wish i could get either of those in HD.

Still my most anticipated movie of the year :)

This shot is excellent.

Agreed. The mood just isn't quite the same as the teaser.

Looks great though.

I liked the teaser alot too...but I thought the mood was fantastic from the halfway point to the end of this trailer. When he delivers the line "with these......people" and turns and cracks that smile...its awesome.

My friend, who manages a movie theater, just gave me a There Will Be Blood poster:

I have so many posters on my walls, I have to figure out which one I want to take down to make from for this one.

Not a huge fan of PT, but I would like to see this. Love westerns, esp epic ones.

My only real reservation about this is DDL. Even in the trailer for this, I was almost embarrassed to watch him straining so hard to create his "character" the poor man was about to burst a blood vessel.

I remember the funniest review of Gangs of NY: "Someone forgot to tell DDL this was a talky."

Hit the nail on the head.

wow, I couldn't disagree with you more. I got to see this flick a couple weeks ago and felt DDL's performance was one of the most incredible things I'd seen in my entire life (short as it has been lol)

And that's not coming from a conditioned DDL fan, I've only seen Gangs of New York.

this looks like it will be amazing.
DDL is one of the best actors living.
PTA is a very talented guy. I just hope i dont build this movie up too much in my head.

Interesting, I've never thought of him as scenery cruncher. I thought he stole every scene in Gangs of NY.

Regarding this teaser, I got a "Once Upon a Time in The West Vibe" from it. It aroused me, sexually.

Just saw it. Man was it slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow. Boring as hell. Great long sequence shots which are quintessential PTA, but my God was this movie slow. Paul Dano's acting was great though. He will win the Oscar for best supporting actor.

I love PTA but this and Punch Drunk Love totally blew. He needs to make another Boogie Nights. I'll never sit through this movie again.

slow pacing (not a flaw, imo) and a lack of compelling content (aka boring) are two different things... could you expand your thoughts a little on each of those? i'm curious to know in what ways this is not "the new citizen kane".
