Hi everyone. This is my first movie! Shot with a DVX100 and Sennheiser shotgun mic. If you like it, please get an Apple ID and rate it. Thanks for looking.

We only had 24 hours to shoot, edit, score and upload, and we were working with home depot clip-on lights with household 100 watt bulbs. And none of the actors had ever acted before in their lives.

I would appreciate any comments, opinions, suggestions, etc. Good or bad. I'm trying to learn as much as possible and this site has been a big help. Thanks again!

i thought that the setting for the guys interview was the funniest part. for some reason it felt like some of the funnier things were cut short like when he was singing that song and things like that but overall nice job.

Thanks for the comments. We had to edit it down to three minutes so we left out some stuff and some parts were cut a little short. Anybody have any technical comments?

I watched several of the Insomnia Videos and hated pretty much everyone I watched.. this was very good though... had kind of an Arrested Development style of humor which is hard to pull off - but I thought you did... great job!

it reminded me of mtv at first. lol i'm not trying to insult you, just looked like it with confessionals and the attitute the guy had. i loved it, it was hilarious when he woke up and looked over at her face right away.

the lady was a good actor but the guy was trying to hard. some of the humor like the breast looking thing was pushed too much and should of been slightly more subtle. overall was nicely done though. i really liked the fact that the guy was being interviewed in the bathroom.

I thought it was very successful technically, especially given your constraints. The lighting is on the flat side, but that works to your favor given the genre. I think you could have benefited from a greater shot selection, but of course you only had so much time....

As far as the audio, the guy's interview in the bathroom definitely detracted from the audio quality, which I noticed immediately. Of course, the setting of the interview really adds to the humor, as someone else mentioned in this thread, so it is easy to forgive.

This is a great first short film - 100x better than my first short (which was edited in camera on Hi8, to date myself slightly). You should make something where you are NOT constrained so much by time and content requirements now though... That will be a better test and learning experience for you.

Also, it is really helpful when asking for criticism to specifically state your goals for the project - I have always found that it is difficult to provide constructive criticism without knowing what you meant to accomplish.

Great job overall - keep working!!
