Shoulder support for DVX/XHA1 with SGpro

I was wondering what the best choice would be for shoulder support with a 35mm adapter. I'm using the SGpro r3 with a DVX or XHA1.

Any experiences on the DV Media Rig from Varizoom? It looks affordable and good. Is that so? The Zacuto rig is too expensive for my pocket I think. Other rigs?

Thanks..

I use the Spiderbrace with my SGpro and DVX. For the price, it's hard to beat, but I'll probably upgrade to something a little more robust in the future. I can shoot for hours at a time using the Spiderbrace combo, though it definitely gives you a workout!

I've got a Spiderbrace but tend to think with a full rig, it's a bit overloaded and worry about the flex on the bends in the PVC handles - Although not a huge fan of their actual plastic shoulder support, the Cavision extended handles are actually much nicer than I thought and if padded, their shoulder support isn't too bad - both can be had for about $250 and mount to your current rail system -

I've actually got a buddy who's a prosthetics whiz looking at some solutions to some shoulder pads that could be mounted to rails - something that rides a bit softer than most of the current solutions.

Any ideas on where I can order Cavision rig? The cavision website has no online ordering system, and google did not helped me either. I'm from Belgium, Europe.

Thanks so far!

not sure about shipping costs to Europe but B&H here in the states has them... you'd just buy separate pieces if you've already got a rails system.

Thanks for the bhphoto tip, couldn't find it in the appropriate section, but a search on cavision made me find it.

Ok, so I found this:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/310697-REG/Cavision_RS15HDE_RS15HDE_Dual_Hand_Grips.html
and http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/335973-REG/Cavision_RS15SP3_RS15SP_3_Shoulder_Pad.html

Will that fit on the SGpro r3 system? What else do I need for counterweight?

I have that for my M2 setup;

I must recommend a Zacuto rig. I have a full rig from them with shoulder mount and tripod mount capabilities. I talked to Steve at Zacuto and he mentioned that he is willing to give discounts if you just ask. Zacuto's stuff is solid and just works. A lot of it also has to do with personal preference. If you haven't noticed, I'm a huge Zacuto fan. (Spartacus, you and I keep meeting in topics like these).

Marc, is that comfortable (the shoulder pad)? It looks like a piece of plastic from the picture

Yes. "Pimp-my-cam" threads! That'd be a great contest. Who has the most pimped out camera... you'd have to limit/judge it to/by specific cameras. (Wouldn't want a RED user winning right of the bat)! Then the winner would get a free trip to NAB or something like that. Everything considered, 35mm DOFA, lenses, shoulder mounts, rails, follow focus, matteboxes, etc. etc. etc.

Ahh balance. The end all be all problem. So that means you have the q-release to mount the shoulderpad on it's own rails underneath the camera correct? I have my rig with some batts on the back. Helps with the whole "inertia problem." I posted a news item about the new RED configs from Zacuto. Check it out!

About Zacuto, considering the handgrips alone are already 750$, and since my maximum budget is 500$, I doubt he'll give me that much of a discount..
