I just got word that a music video I made for my great friend Benjamin Bates (electronic music artist) is up online. It's doing very well on the website which determines whether it will be aired on television or not, so the more views the better!

Check it out and let me know what you think-

Filmed on HVX + 35mm adapter in an abandoned military hospital in Belgium

Enjoy!

awesome. belgium? that's pretty cool, i've shot there before too. what type of adapter did you use?

Great work man,

This is one of my favorite music videos I've seen on this forum. It really has a great vibe to it and is organic to the song. I think you have amazing potential as a video director or DP. If I'm not mistaken this is your second video? And honestly you are at a level now that most of us only dream about reaching. I love your photography and your first video was good, but nothing like this. This one you really nailed it, it goes beyond just being TV ready.

Would love any more info on the making of this

Chris

Terrific video and catchy song. Great lighting and the "twitchiness" of the video really complemented the song and the visuals but didn't distract. Really good work.

Thank you! Yes this is my second video

?Some info-
The making was pretty tricky because a lot of things broke and we had to use a small gas generator almost 100% of the time for everything. We went through 3 monitors (that vary in size as the video goes) because the one I brought from Canada blew it's fuse, another was dropped, and another one quit but just when we were finished with it

It wanted really orangey light for the hallway only so we cut away some old curtains in the room with the plants on the wall to let in the natural light, then naturally when the camera is balances to this, the work lights we were using went really orange. (often not desired though). then we used just some small reflectors for his face on some parts

It was shot with about 3 variations in the music for the speed effect with the slowest shutter possible to get the blur in the movements, (and 25fps final output because it was a european HVX)
