If I posted a still from a action movie I was working on asking for lighting suggestions my thread wouldn't get riddled with "man i'm sick of action movies"posts. Why is that ? Maybe it's because at the end of the day whether you like the genre or not has no bearing on whether or not the technical aspects were executed correctly.

Sadly not everyone has the ability to tell a client that I don't want to work on your project because the end product isn't my cup of tea. I doubt that anybody here would tell Mercedes that they wouldn't be involved in shooting their commercial because they prefer BMW as a car manufacturer

Yeah I love those posts too. I like Eminem and Fort Minor....who gives a flyin' ****? Nobody asked you for a critique of rap music. That **** gets old in every rap video post i've seen. Who are you anyway, there are a ton of people who love rap especially suburban white kids. There are a ton of people on this board who would break their neck to work on a video with Hype Williams/Little X/Dave Myers/and Joseph Kahn. Oh you would'nt, well post your real name and lets keep a list so when I see you post rap music footage I can email the artists your comments that their music is ****. I find the majority of people who don't like it our so outside the mainstream no one wants you to like it. Its popularity and the admiration make you uncomfortable with your status as an outsider.

I think the grain is coming from being a screen grab of premiere and cropped in photoshop and not a still rendered from the timeline.

Oh dang. I was trying for this effect for a kung fu fight scene I'm shooting in the next few weeks. Thanks for the tips. When we test next week I will try this all. Thanks again.

Anybody wanting to know about the 360 matrixy thing it was done with the revision plugin twixtor. Just got the tallent too freeze while i steadicam'd around them. the slomo sections are at about 1000fps thanks to twixtor.

4Mat, very nice video... When I was watching it I kept wondering "Is this Twixtor...?"

I was right :) that plugin is truly amazing, isn't it? I really want to try for that 360 Matrix effect. Did you shoot 60fps on the HVX when you had the talent freeze in place? I imagine that would help when you Twixtorized, right?
 
I shot the 'slow down' video on my old XL2 a couple of years ago when the HVX was little more than a pipe dream :O)
60fps or 50fps in pal land does help twixtor out a greate deal i'm pretty happy with what I can get with this combo.
