I heard good things about these, but I went to the course live, and the moment he said if you think filmmaking is a form of art leave! My DP got up and left heheh, I stayed just in case but I was fairly bored with his stories of grandeurs and him telling us who he knows and trying to prove it for 4 hours. "Robert Rodriguez has scars on his back from medical testing he did to get El Mariachi made" for two hours, I don't see how that's teaching me anything. What a waste of 400$ it was. Well I'm sure DVD's are better :P

Weird. He did none of that in Charlotte. He did stress that movie producing was business, not art. But he didn't spend any time laying out his credentials unless someone questioned him about them. He had too much information to pass along, and too little time to waste it with that.

But that was back in 2000, so things may have changed.

The overwhelming majority of people who have taken the class loved it and learned a lot. Dmitry you are in the extreme minority with your comments.

"INSPIRATION…Why waste 4 years at a film school? I got Dov's…Film School, shot 'Reservoir Dogs" [and] "Pulp Fiction," and launched my career as a writer who controls his scripts."

- QUENTIN TARANTINO,
Writer & Director of "Kill Bill"

"AMAZING…A massive amount of information."

- THE LOS ANGELES TIMES

"BRILLIANT"

- THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

"ENLIGHTENING…After the 2-Day Film School was given in London, I partnered with Matt Vaughn and Trudy Styler [and] launched my career...Thank you, Dov."

- GUY RITCHIE,
Director of "Snatch,"
"Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"

"SPECTACULAR…The greatest film course ever."

- THE SYDNEY TIMES

"SUPERB…The course is great. I thought I knew filmmaking but my partner-agent had me attend the 2-Day Film School…and now I really do."

- WILL SMITH,
Yes, the Will Smith

Well I was just a kid with grand expectations when I went, about 4 years ago I believe, and it was purely a business aspect of it all. I wanted to learn the technical side but was misdirected I guess :) I'm sure it's a great film business course for everyone whose on the verge of breaking through and has the talent. Thanks for making me feel like a minority again :( hehe, and I guess live courses always differ from state to state right?

The majority of movie producing is the "business aspect of it all". If you want more of a technical and creative aspect of the craft, then look into the action/cut 2 day film school. It focuses more on directing and shot set up etc.
