Feature film scripts for sale

Normally I'd have an aversion to marketing so directly, but financial issues have somewhat forced my hand. I would characterize myself as a fairly prolific writer, I have written three feature films this year and am in the final act of a fourth. That's been my average for the last few years, along with shorts here and there.

I've won a few screenwriting awards, placed as a finalist in some competitions, and work as staff at a screenwriter's camp every summer where I study under award-winning screenwriters as well as help other writers with their own screenplays.

So, here are some summaries/loglines of scripts I have not sold. The full list of all scripts I have is available at http://www.jasonboyce.com/screenwriter.html

The Art of Racing: A superstar racing pigeon dashes his flock's hopes for a winning season when he takes to fly solo and lands in the big city. Far from his loft, however, he discovers the harsh realities of life without a team, and the real reason for their need to win, a goal that's too big for him to fly away from - bringing home the grand prize to pay the desperately-needed medical care for the little girl who's always cared for them.

Finalist, Writer's Desk Film Project 2007 by Little Lip Productions

This is a feature-length animation. It would be prohibitively expensive, but there may be some lurkers involved in production houses that would be able to take this project on.

The Legend of the Devil's Pimp Cane: After inheriting his estranged father's mansion, Da'One discovers an ancient and mysterious pimp cane that unleashes a terrifying evil. Da'One and his buddies must blast a lot of rap music and smoke a lot of weed to save the world from this ancient evil.

I was always thinking about trying to get this one made myself, but if someone else can beat me to it, that's fair enough.

The Little Guy: Farley is an unlikely hero; he's fat, bespectacled, ugly, nerdy, lazy and runs an elitist music blog away from his job as a Reno roulette spinner. But his love for Karin, the patchouli-scened hippie cocktail waitress, drives him to return a briefcase dropped by the one-eyed, shotgun toting poet-in-sheep's-clothing assassin working with Jean-Paul, Farley's coworker who chases Karin as well as anything else in a skirt. Throw in the Blood Wolves, a jive-talking group of gangsters and, in the end, Farley's last best chance lies with Lance, an obsessive-compulse hero-for-hire who doesn't know how to save himself, let alone anyone else.

This one is just bizarre. Think "The Phantom of Liberty" or any of Luis Bunuel's other films.

3: In 1940's Destiny City, Captain Midnight is a mysterious vigilante hero with no knowledge of his true identity while Sam Stone is a hard-nosed detective on a bizarre case: Keep Captain Midnight alive for 3 days. Stone quickly realises that his biggest concern isn't keeping the Captain alive, but convincing Midnight that he is the crime lord who took out a hit on his own life.

This I originally did as a comic book. It's pretty action-y, expensive, but makes for a good ride.

Small-time thug Mickey Donelli is released from jail to find his girlfriend won't let him see her or his son until he goes straight. While staying with his friend Freddy, another small-time thug, he meets Barry Johnson, a tall black neurotic adult filmmaker who offers him his last, best chance to leave crime behind and get his life back. Along the way he's beset by Jeff, an overzealous parole officer who's been his nemesis since childhood; Sheila, Barry's hyper-intellectual nymphomaniac film star; and a mysterious stalker who speaks no English. For Mickey, life was easier in jail.

This one I'm pretty much planning on making myself, this will be my first feature, but if it finds someone with better connections, then I'd rather at least see it made.

Summon the Dead: Victor is a power-plant worker, adopted as a child, with a past shrouded in mystery and a life in the shadow of his successful best friend, Jude. When an army of the undead invades Albany, Victor must explore the past he never knew, to find the secret of Bokor, the zombie master, and raise his own undead army to save his life, his family, and the world.

My first featurelength. I always envisioned the tagline: "What's worse than an unstoppable army of the undead? TWO unstoppable armies of the undead."

24 Hour Drama: 24 Hour Drama is the story of a gym staffed with eccentric characters involved in drama, gossip, backstabbing, and workplace sex which finally explodes onto a television courtroom show with a no-nonsense judge who sees through all the layers of drama.

A true story based on the gym I worked at!

Zombie Teen Cop: In the aftermath of a zombie invasion, most of the undead have returned to death, but a few remain in this world. When bodies begin disappearing from the local morgue, Chance, an undead teenage police officer, investigates and uncovers a plot leading to a beloved Reverend who has acquired a book of the dead in his pursuit of eternal life. While trying to stop the Reverend, Chance and his partner Dr. Jones discover the terrible power that raised them and so many other zombies that attacked the town before, and the sacrifice they must make to stop it from happening again.

It's just bizarre.

Rednecks V Zombies: Two half-brothers who don't like each other very much find themselves in a life-or-death struggle with zombies after returning from a hunting trip. With only their wits, a few monster trucks and a gun shop full of ammo, they must re-kill the entire town.

Another zombie flick, but mostly it's just rednecks shooting zombies while monster trucks run them over. Not your typical zombie flick.

BTW, all of these films take place in the same time continuum and there are events and characters that overlap (but not too specifically).

If there's any interest, feel free to PM me or email me at JB@JasonBoyce.com

I also have a multitude of shorts at http://blog.jasonboyce.com/scripts.html that are free for use. Some are being made, though I'm not sure where they're at currently.

The last one I sold was for 1.5% of budget. None of these with the exception of the animation one are really anything big budget, so I'll work with whatever's available if someone wants to make one. The only thing I'm really gonna be tough on is Barry Johnson since I want to make it.

Good luck with these and your career in general mrWrong, I know you'll get there.

"With only their wits, a few monster trucks and a gun shop full of ammo, they must re-kill the entire town."

LOL

Yeah it's basically the anti-zombie movie. 90 minutes of just blowing away zombies, thinking up all kinds of crazy weapons (one of them uses a roomba to kill a few).

I also do stuff on commission so if anyone is looking for a script to be written, feel free to check out my shorts as writing samples and I'm down to write if we match up.

My favorite line from it is, "Darrel, you can't just go out and kill a whole town!" "Why not? I got enough bullets!" "Yeah but it's illegal!" "T'ain't! They's already dead! We just gonna re-killify them!"

Generally I aim for real lowbudget stuff and get away with padding the special fx with story ;)

lol thanks

for anyone interested in *why* i'm putting stuff out there, my dad flipped out, took the retirement savings he had w/ my mom and left for the other side of the states. my mom moved back to england and is undergoing cancer treatment so she can't work. the house is up for sale but if they can't make payments, then they'll foreclose on the house and she'll be ruined financially. i've already put my car up for sale to buy a little bit of time but i'm hoping that one of these guys will sell so i can put it towards that. With most of these scripts, the budget is low so I'm not expecting a lot of money and I'll work with what's available, with the two exceptions: Barry Johnson & Art of Racing.

If anyone just wants to read them, feel free to PM me and I'll send it. They're all registered via LoC and WGA so I'm not worried about theft.
