Construtive Critism needed on my first 2 MIN. SHORT FILM

Hi,

Of course there's the obvious lighting mistake in scene 1, and other mistakes I've caught, but please watch my film and tell me what you think. How could it have been better? Did it just suck? Be honest and in return it'll be helpful. (not I said honest, not hurtful. LOL

Oh and I shot it on my DVX100 with a crew of 2.
 
I'm sorry to say, I could only understand about half of the dialogue.
I would concentrate your efforts on getting clean audio next time - it will go a long way.
 
I don't think you even need to go as far as using a mixer/recorder.
Just using an external mic going directly into the camera would really help you out by leaps and bounds.

You might want to read the stickies in the Audio forum, there is some great information there about mic choices.
 
It almost pretty much did just suck. You need to back up a little on those close ups, watch your head room in the wides, and level your camera. It was weird going from such a wide shot to a very close up. I'm no expert, but that looks like 10,000 dollars worth of coke there. It looked like your actors where enjoying themselves.

Keep at it, make the drama a little harder/dramatize an event/show, like show her doing the coke in some candid place on campus instead of in the courtyard holding the baggie.
