Can anyone give me examples of movies that are shot on 8mm?

I tried to look this up myself but all i get are shitty old movies shot in black and white... It seems like everyone that gets anywhere with their film shot digital or 16/35mm film!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The podcast from www.onsuper8.org is a great place to start. They keep up with the newest stuff in the super8 world.

Sleep Always is a feature film shot on super8. I don't have the URL right now, but a google search should bring it up.

In My Image is another Super8 feature.

The format is pretty hard to do a feature on though. And it seems everyone who has doesn't do it again. Looks like they switch to video. :)

When Kodachrome 40 was king those who could successfully shot on that format had a leg up because they shot on film, had minimal grain and intense colors, and had save a lot money.

However, once someone has made a feature they want to streamline the process and not have the format they shoot dictate content. Fast Forward into the digital age and suddenly there are Kodak negative film stocks for shooting indoors, incredible looking black and white stocks, and even Fuji Velvia and Ektachrome 100 D color reversal films as well.

If I had the right set of circumstances I would not hesitate to shoot a feature film in Super-8, and this is coming from someone who has owned a betacam sp camera since around 1996 and had no desire to attempt making a feature film with that camera.

You can try renting "A Polish Vampire In Burbank", Mark Pirro's Super8 feature. I'm pretty sure you could find it at NetFlix.

Everything Super 8 in today's digital world

There used to be a movie advertised on Ebay all the time called The Lost Tribes, and that was shot totally on Super8. I can't find much info about it online though.

A Night in the Ozarks

A Night in the Ozarks

I worked on a Night in the Ozarks in 1989, just saw it for the first time on DVD.

The DVD is being sold via the internet from many differnent sources. I was one of the four super-8 camera operators on it plus I was the Super-8 Technical advisor as well.

John McEuen, a member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt band, produced and directed the video.
The Dillards performed many of their songs for the video. The audio was recorded by Mike Denecke, the inventor of the Denecke Time Code Slate.

If you like Blue Grass Music you'll probably like this DVD.

That looks amazing.

I love how the white completely came out with no detail blown out at all, also the hair also has full detail as well even though it has darker tones to it.
