If P2 cards were like water
If P2 cards were like water
If P2 cards were like water I would use them for archival purposes. I like the idea of keeping data on solid state memory cards instead of hard drives. What would be nice to see are hard drives made of solid state memory cards that are hundreds of gigs. I've used the firestore a few times and I just enjoy the ease of use with the P2 cards. The production company I worked for was very hesitant to use the HVX because of the workflow issue. As P2 cards come down in price and increase in size it's really going to make these Panasonic cameras more valuable. DVCPRO looks better in my opinion than HDV and is a lot easier to edit to boot. I really like the workflow a lot. I just want more cards and space. I never considered the camera a documentary camera but with the 32gig cards I can. If I could only afford a bunch of 'em!
I was also wondering if cheaper P2 cards could increase the sales of cameras the same way good software can drive the sales of a good computer system.
