Best 720p file format to use in Quicktime Pro?

I'm using Premiere Pro 1.5.1 with CineForm Aspect HD 4.3.
EDIT:
What I want to do is create a QuickTime file, using QuickTime Pro, from a 720p project. Since you have to import a single file into QT Pro (rather that export directly from Premiere), I've been exporting uncompressed AVI's (QT Pro won't accept files created with the CineForm codec). But their file size is enormous- about 10GB for a 2 minute file at 1280x720.

So what I'm looking for is a different codec to act as the middle man between premiere and QT Pro. (DVCPRO HD would be perfect, but I don't have access to it.) Is there a codec included in Premiere that I can use to export a single 720p master file (that isn't ginormous) for making QT Pro files with?

Thanks!

Not sure what your best export bet is but I am pretty sure there's no way to modify the frame size / bitrate on the DV codec. It's very particular.

10 GB for 2 min sounds really large. I use the Microsoft Avi option with Compressor sets to None and a 3:30 files came out about 5GB. It's still huge but definitely a lot less than what you're getting. Give it a shot.

Do you get 5GB files at full 1280x720? Or are you using 720x480?
If you're using 720p, I must have a funky option somewhere...

I've been working with Premiere Pro CS3 of late.

There is probably a much better approach than this (it's a throwback to earlier versions--for me) but many times for expediency sake I just export a generic MS AVI and then choose my flavor with Sorenson Squeeze or ProCoder.

ProCoder3, BTW, makes a drop dead gorgeous H.264 file for the web.

dregenthal, I don't think I have Squeeze or ProCoder. Are they plug-ins or standalone apps? Free or?
With CS3, can you export to DVCPRO HD? (Or will that be part of the upcoming update for native P2 support?)
Thanks!

I'm probably missing the boat entirely on this because I am not really sure what your goal is. You should be able to gather more info on Squeeze or Procoder with a simple Google search than I could provide here--but no, neither one are free.

Exactly what the upcoming patch to CS3 will include is unknown (to me anyhow). I can't remember if RayLight works with Premiere 1.5 or not but Raylight can author a P2 card for playback of your finished movie on the camera, with P2 Maker (see dvfilm.com).

Sorry if this isn't the information you seek--can you be a bit more specific what it is you are trying to accomplish?

Yes, I guess I was a bit vague.

Premiere 1.5.1's QT export options aren't nearly as good as QT Pro's.

We have a new product called Raylight Encoder Pro which allows you to encode DVCPROHD quicktimes from any Windows app. It's $225. We are mainly selling it to broadcasters and post houses. Let me know if that's of interest.

Is there an upgrade path for current owners of RayLight?
