Some shots (and some slow-mo) from down on the ice at a Blue Jackets game LAST season. Yeah, I know, the music is hokey.

It's amazing, but the game seems at least twice as fast when you're down ON the ice without glass in between you and the players.

Nice action footage -- this is where the HVX excells. Actually the music wasn't bad either, I'm not a big fan of it, but it works for this, and the video was matched to the beat.

Did you shoot that with auto knee? It looks like the knee shifted a few times, suddenly blowing out the ice.

Yep - auto knee, auto iris. My HVX was only a month or so old at the time, so I was still sort of testing it out.

Dude, some nice shots in there! Loved it.

I am a hockey fan myself, and am jealous of you getting down near the ice like that!!

That was really nice piece. Especially the intro shots. Those are money demo reel shots for sure... Cinematic and set up some great drama. Ya can tell how hard it would be too keep up with these guys. Hockey is played at such a freakin' accelerated pace... Only thing that would have been nice wouuld have been some of the real audio spliced in there.. some hits and some crowd stuff.. but it was nice anyway

AWESOME! Huge hockey fan here. great opportunity to get that close to the action. Nice cut and great shooting....hard to pull a good focus at the pace of the game!

There actually is SOME real audio in the 100%-paced footage. I didn't dub over the slow-mo just cuz I didn't have time.

I've played hockey all of my life, but being on ice-level, in between the benches was a very intimidating experience. I'll probably do it again on the 10/17.
