Rendered DVD doesn't take up enitre 16x9 TV screen

Is there a setting in DVD Architect I should be aware of that shrinks the screen? I burned my HD project onto a DVD and played it on an HDTV and it doesn't fill up the entire screen (there's a black border around the entire project. And it's pretty thick). Any ideas?

DammitJ, no I was not.

David, I chose 720x480. Don't know if this is synomous with "widescreen" in their output choices. If not, and I also needed to check "widescreen" in another part of the settings list, I don't think I did that. I will take a look and try again.

It sounds like you've rendered out to Letterbox (in 4:3 video) and then the TV is pillar-boxing the 4:3 (not knowing it's letterbox).

If setting the TV to "16:9 Zoom" brings the video up to full-screen, then this is what has happened.

You need to render the video as full frame 16:9 (not letterbox) and it should work. This might be as simple as making sure your DVD project/sequence is a 16:9 project/sequence.

Ugh! I still cannot get this to work! I have made absolutely sure I checked the 720x480 16x9 project setting in Architect and it doesn't matter. I even tried the same setting but with "widescreen" for kicks. The problem still persists. The entire image plays small. The aspect ratio is correct. It's just surrounded by black.

Now, one interesting note. When I preview it WITHIN Architect, it's also small. So at least Architect isn't telling me it's doing one thing, then doing something completely different. It's right there in the preview.

Now I can physically go in and use Architects crude cropping tool to have the image take up more the frame, but then it starts doing things like limiting how much I can stretch the width. It just doesn't feel like that's the way this problem should be solved.

The only thing I can think of is that I'm bringing video in that's somehow smaller (like say by 30%) than it's supposed to be. I'm coming out of Vegas 7 so I don't know how or why this would be happening. Anyway, that's all I got. Any ideas?

p.s. would like to hear particularly from people who have successfully gone out from Vegas/Architect to an HDTV.
