How to: Blend several pics into 1 project

I am just starting out with PS so bear with me. I have imported several photos where I have cut the backgrounds out of them. Now I would like to create some sort of background and then one by one or layer by layer place the edited photos onto the new background if that makes sense. FYI I am not using the new CS3, I think its the original CS. My goal is to create a backdrop for a DVD menu and/or flyer.

Drag each layer from the "Layers" palette of the source image onto the canvas of the final image.

or click on the layer you want to be a part of the cover, hit Ctrl+A which will select all, hit Ctrl+C to copy, click on the document you want them all to be a part of and hit Ctrl+V to paste.
