Coollights 1200 HMI Par?

ok I see... I guess 9ft does do it... I haven't measured... but they are around there and my laziness to go get an extension should not be a factor :D

8 feet is probably the most common length of stand.

One thing I'm looking for right now is a carabiner to attach to the ballasts so you can hang them in odd places and feel that its secure. This is about the best thing I could come up with when I was searching for a quick and secure way to attach them to things. What I need to make this complete is a nylon strap with a ring at one end and the carabiner at the other end. Then you can just secure them to the light stand, a yoke or whatever. That is until someone comes up with a better, low cost solution to the issue...

Ah how could we forget Japan! I know they operate off of 110 to 240v but I know Japan has 100v 60hz as I recall. I have to assume they would also run off of 100v but I will check. Dimmable flo ballasts say 100 to 240. Non-dimmable flo's ballast says 120 to 240. 150w cdm ballast says 110 to 240v. Everything says 50 or 60hz. So need to check for everything but the dimmable flo's and get back to you on that one!

By the way Noel, what does Japan do for tungsten bulbs? Just run the 110 variety or is there a special 100v model? I've never seen a 100v type before...

Whoa, is your website correct that these won't be available until April of 2008?

Also, are you going to have a booth at NAB? You really should, even if it's just a tiny one in the lighting section.

Richard, your wish is granted. Your Red won't be shipping until December. So get those lights out! :)

Oh thank God! What a relief that is now I don't have to worry about that big bite. I'm on the road right now making the circuit, knocking heads, having come to religion meetings, etc. We'll know more on how its looking after this week.

I just put April because I have no idea. The lens set is the missing link here that we need to make this thing a complete product. The one that's available now is German glass and its impossibly expensive so i need to get that redone with a less expensive lens set to make this thing more doable.

Sorry Richard, missed this post. 110 is the garden variety. Personally for me I need 110 to 240 v.

Noel

You asked before about 100v (on another thread) and I did check. It seems all our universal voltage ballasts are capable of 90v to 240v 50/60hz. So you're covered no matter what on the HMI and flo solutions. As for the tungsten ones then the 110v bulb with a regular fresnel is definitely the way to go. We're getting closer and you should be able to get some stuff in the next month or so.

For the money...check out the Joker bug 800 par.....Of course, Richard's are cheaper, but a great cost savings from ARRI's, when you add up all the accessories like head cables, lenses, bulb, lens case., ballast.ect

The 800's are nice, but expensive, I've looked at the cinemills 1200 but I think I might wait for Richard.

If you need those snap on lenses it'll be a while. I can't get to it right now. Finishing up the flos and 575w units now.

I haven't tried it but its highly possible the ArriSun 1200 lenses work on this model.

Hey Richard, I wanted to see if you could update us on what you are going to be offering over the next 6 months.

I know this is what you are "offering" right now

150 Watt HMI Fresnel w/ Small, silent ballast. $399
575 Watt HMI Fresnel w/Small, not silent ballast. $699
575 Watt Par w/Small, not silent ballast. $1799 (looks like a Joker Bug)
1200 Watt Par w/Pro, silent ballast. $2,899

What else are you planning? I know we had talked about a 1200 watt fresnel, but you weren't sure when you could get that done.

Would love to know what your thinking and how everything is moving...

Matthew
