Trying to achieve cleaner HVX footage...

It's subtle, but I prefer the BPRESS contrast. I'm not sure when I last shot with another gamma on my stuff...

And so Mark Harris, you see to get the Film look, its all magic in post. Look at what i did.... It looks like Vision 2, or Eterna500t.... simply magnificent.

Trying to achieve cleaner HVX footage...

Wash, rinse, repeat - works every time.

If that fails, here is an amazing, rubust setting that looks like velvia (i have variations of this theme for INT, EXT, WIDE, CLOSE - but this setting is for EXT):

Flim Cam
Default
180
+5
0
+4
+5
0
0
-8
-1
off
hd norm
mid
norm
off
thin

Try it. Fould it made a world of difference. Let me know what you think.

Cheers,
Dale

Alright to me, the solution here is FAR more simple than most of these suggestions... No offense.

To me it just looked like the DOF was too narrow. Notice the straps of her top were very clean and focused. Her pimple, on her forehead was very soft, and so was the rest of her face.

As far as muddy, the blacks looked fine to me, but cinelike V IMO offers the worst of cinelike's noise, without the dynamic range benefits (to some extent) of D. But now we're talking noise, not mud.

I honestly think we're looking at softness mistaken for mud.

Just my 2 cents, please no flame, I'm just trying to help, and I recognize I could be 100% wrong.
