It was made for a contest a few weeks back but my work conflicted with the due date thus I couldn't turn it in. The theme was left brain right brain youtube messed up the audio a little I noticed. I made it in like 15 hours total. A lot of it was me testing out some vfx techniques I wanted to try such as cloning. Hope you guys like it. Not my best work by any means but wanted to try something different and test out some things. Sorry youtube buying web hosting tomorrow.

Nice!

i really like the look of the main scene.

Was this a dvx?

if so, what settings did you use?

Also, what did you do as far as color correction?

Colors look nice. VFX is great as well..... If you want to try some decent web hosting go to stage6.divx.com

Wouldn't mind hearing about your scene settings. Everything appeared to come straight from the cam. Am I right or wrong?

Ok guys, i loved this look so much, that i had to try out my dvx and try and get the same results......didn't quite turn out the "exact" same, but it cam pretty nice. I added a color corrector, with the blues up a little, desaturated some of the shots because of the blockyness of the red, and that's pretty much it. It is of my sister cooking.

Heres the thread

Thanks guys I will get back to you tonight about the settings and everything. I will post some before pics and after yep stock dvx. I acutally just bought my own domain name and banwidth so I will have my vids in hq soon. The whole project was rushed but fun. I used AE-colorista to cc. I made the earth zoom my self but yep I used Andrew Krammers tutorial! He is the man. I also made everything that was on the lcd tv in the film.

TheComo what "look" are you crazy about? Am I missing something? Just looks washed out or desaturated.

Settings from dvx comming in a few did most of my work in post. My uploaded aren't quite as crisp but oh well.

Here is a link for some cc tests I did with colorista a while back.

My basic CCing in AE was
three layers
1st adjusted white balnce a little, crushed blacks, brought down exposure.

2nd power masks on their faces well really it was just one guy.

3rd my look, desatured the clip, really crushed them shadows(lift), brought up my highlights(gain), brought up midtones (gama) just a tad.

Also, added some green to the lift, and light blue to both the gama and gain.

Scene File settings.
Detail -5
V-detail thin
Gamma- Cinelike v
matrix- Cinelike
master ped -5
aut irs -2

everything else is at 0 I believe.
I shot some nature footage few weeks ago andr really changed up some of those settings well not big time just those main ones(above).

Few more before after pics.

Can i download a plug in for final cut, thats colorista? cuz i hate using after effects to cc

Yep, as a matter a fact you buy/download colorista plug in from red giant and you can use the plugin for ae and fcp with just the one license pretty sweet. I have colorista as a plugin for ae and avid. How come you hate ae for cc I do all my onlining in ae.

I hate transferring footage to a.e, and then abck to final cut...i dont want qwuality losss if there is any lol
